OlderDavid Beckham is Surfboard Satisfied
David Beckham just blogged about how appreciative and grateful he was/is to win a surfboard at the Teen Choice Awards for Choice Male Athlete. Here’s what the 33-year-old soccer stud had to say:
“I attended the Teen Choice Awards 2008 on Sunday night in LA and I was honored to receive the award for Choice Male Athlete. Having only been in the States for just over a year, to be in the same category as Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant was brilliant but to win was amazing.”
Becks also wrote a bit about his next soccer challenge: “We’re up against Chivas USA next and of course the Home Depot Center is home for both of us, so neither side has an advantage, but the Galaxy will be going all out for the win.”

He won because his media guru made sure he won – publicity stunt because LA Galaxy hav invested so much money and HE HAS GOT TO MAKE MONEY FOR LA GALAXY – so as much media coverage as poss, lots and lots of AWARDS etc. JUST A LOAD OF BULL BECAUSE THEY THINK AMERICANS ARE STUPID WHICH THEY ARE
I agree with CATHY Number # 10…. His media people have spent millions on him and he has been on ” the bench ” more than on the field because of injuries. Still, soccer has not caught on here as other sports has. Football then basketball and golf ( thanks to tiger ) and baseball are what we watch. Not the David Beckham’s. Even if he is married to a Posh. An unsmiling Poshy. Maybe his manager thought if he received an award if some type it would stir up some interest or action. I think not. Yes, he is cute and sweet. I’m NOT bashing him, JUST his MEDIA people. They think they own everyone and eventually try to.

If you really wanna bash someone…than please get your facts right! Since when did he ONLY sit on the bench!? Like 9 MONTHS ago?? Have you really been watching him play…or given any “glance” towards the Galaxy games since last November? Coz i don’t even remember seeing, or reading about him being “benched” at all!! Or were you watching different sport then? Coz as far as i remember, he only played football/soccer. So… you are saying that his media people been paying the TCA, and other awards too, for his winning? Don’t you think that the other celebrities, not to mention your so-called effective, comprehensive media, will know and complaint about that by now? You know what… blame the teens and the people who voted! And brace yourself… coz DB has just been nominated for the Kids Choice Awards next. I can’t wait to hear what you haters/morons would be saying if the kids a.k.a. American kids love him… too. ;p
