Emmy Rossum is Pinkitude Pretty

Emmy Rossum has been named the official spokesperson of PiNKiTUDE, a new cause sharing life saving breast health messages with young women everywhere. The 21-year-old actress/singer even wrote a song for the cause called “Why Oh Why”.

“As a young woman whose family has personally been affected by breast cancer, I am grateful for the opportunity to help raise awareness of this disease by sharing my ‘PiNKiTUDE’ with young women everywhere,” Emmy said. “I hope to inspire women like myself to practice breast self-awareness and to encourage them to live a healthy lifestyle. I am proud to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure and their promise to end breast cancer forever.”

PiNKiTUDE is an innovative program merging the power of two very dynamic brands: MGM and Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” said Hala Moddelmog, president and CEO, Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The campaign will launch tomorrow, August 14th with a star-studded event at Club Lounge 7 in Los Angeles.

    She’s great :)

  • Very funny !

aww i adore this girl….she’s amazingly gorgeous…how does she do that? she always look so beautiful and well, stunning. She’s classy and graceful..i’d even want to be friends with her because she seems so sweet.. i’m not lesbian lol…..but she’s just very very attractive. she’s undeniably very pretty. Besides, i think she’s one of the rare TALENTED actresses out there…talent is something that lacks in movie industry today….same in music industry….anybody can be an actress if they got “the looks”, it’s all about that. And the thing is, Emmy has both beauty and talent , that makes her unique. I love her. She does the right thing, go Emmy. PS: Gerard Butler is so damn hot, i love him too :D

I’m glad to see young people like Emmy Rossum, Natalie Portman, and even Hayden Panettiere involved in the world around them. I like how the first two are also getting good educations.
Anne Hathaway is another one — making education and caring about something besides themselves very important. They are not partying every night, but instead finding more meaning and purpose in their lives.

These young women are showing their inside beauty, and it’s a bonus that they are attractive on the outside. Also, Emmy is one of the most talented young women in the entertainment. I hope she does Broadway some more.

One of the number one ways to avoid breast cancer is to breastfeed! I don’t know why all these campaigns never mention that. Oh right. It is because they are afraid of offending people who choose to formula feed. Well, regardless of what you “choose” it is still fact that breastfeeding reduces your chances of getting breast cancer.

  • Gorgeous

I love Emmy, but Gerard looks less than thrilled to be there . . .

  • Suzy

Emmy is a very talented young woman who shows a lot of class. I can’t imagine her ever passing out drunk in a taxi or flashing her hoohah to the paps. I hope young girls emulate her example instead of the usual Hollywood starlet.

I remember Emmy had a HUGE crush on Gerry when they worked on Phantom of the Opera together! I love that story and I saw the movie three times!!! So I watched all the interviews and stuff and he was hot. He said he thought of her as his kid sister. Well. She is a lot older now. She met him when she was 16 or 17. Now she is legal. And she is a beauty. Hmmmm……

  • April

Anon, where can I find this story? :P

  • Miss T

Emmy did not have a crush on Gerry. She thought of him as an older brother and she was very much in love with her boyfriend (now ex-boyfriend) at the time.

  • Lola

I think they make a great couple! Of course they couldn’t say anything other than “brother/sister”…he’d be arrested! But she has grown up, is beautiful and intelligent, and they make a stunning pair…I would love to see it! He did say she was the smartest person he had ever met in a Phantom interview……I just wonder why he hasn’t had a steady girlfriend….I hate to say it but I often wonder if he is gay….not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Have you stopped and thought that them saying brother/sister is exactly what they meant and mean? 18 year differance covers alot of ground to include maturity.

My daughter and a few other 21 year olds I know consider anything past say 5 years is a fossil….or again the big brother type. True, Gerry has gone out with younger women, but I am sure he does draw the line at some point. And I definitely agree with #15, Emmy has always in her interviews and comments about Gerry has considered him only as a big brother. Just my opinion.

Emmy is doing a great thing for a wonderful cause. That’s what we should be discussing, not some supposed crush on some old dude.

I think personally the Pinkitude fundraiser will go very far. My great-grandmother had breast cancer twice in her 95 years so if Ms. Rossum fundraises for my geat-grandmother too, my family thanks you. By the way, she died in 2001 five days after 9/11.
