In this week’s Page Six Magazine, actress Rumer Willis shares her personal struggles with mean girls, growing up famous, and calling Ashton Kutcher her stepdad. Here’s what the 19-year-old daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis had to say:
On the media’s relentless criticism of people in the public eye: “It’s shocking how unbelievably mean people are—not just the people who are writing stuff, the people who make comments. For awhile I read that stuff, and it was upsetting, I’d get really down on myself, which is debilitating,” she says. “Now I think, ‘Do you really have nothing better to do than talk s—t about me?’”
On the rumors that she’s gay: “If people call me a lesbian because I have short hair and I wear jeans instead of dresses, then by all means, run with it. I think it’s hilarious. I like guys.”
On avoiding many of the pitfalls that have plagued her peers: “Sure, I have my issues, but I’m not in rehab. I’m not in crazy debt. I like the fact that I didn’t just get my GED, but I graduated from high school. A lot of it has to do with my parents. They have a desire to keep us [kids] grounded and give us a normal upbringing.”
On having a great relationship with the “Punk’d” star she calls stepdad (Kutcher): “He’s so cool. He definitely is a father-slash-older brother figure, but at the same time I can still go out with him and have an amazing time. We all have so much fun together. I’m so lucky. My dad and Ashton get along—it’s not weird. There’s no jealousy or drama. If we weren’t all entirely morally opposed to doing a reality show, I guarantee it would be the best-selling reality show ever.”
Rumer‘s latest movie, House Bunny, opens in theaters everywhere next Friday, August 22. The film also costars Scary Movie star Anna Faris and American Idol alum Katharine McPhee.

i feel sorry for her. i’ve been reading the comments on her on this site be4 and its so rude! everyone says bad stuff about her and u dont even know her.. i know it is like that with every celebrity, but there is no good comments on her (just a few sometimes). im not a big fan of her, but just because u’re not a fan it doesn’t mean u have to hate her :S its like ” hate or like” its just stupid, dont u guys think about how it is for the celebrities to read all the bad comment on them. like she said, it is upsetting. Surprisingly they seemed to avoid the role of nepotism in her so-called career. She is saying how people say negative things about her and she just mentioned people with serious issues (rehab, debt, etc.) in a demeaning way. It is called privilege and she should be so lucky to be on the receiving end.
Has anybody actually read the substance of what she has to say? Yes, people have nothing better to do than talk sh#$.

You’re right, she hasn’t done much and gets privileges ’cause she’s demi and bruce’s kid, of course she does. Does that mean that people can be horrible to her and call her ugly and all kinds of names? No! How on earth are we ever going to stop bullying in schools when grown people are such haters?!
