OlderNastia Liukin To Cameo On 'Gossip Girl'
Olympics champion Nastia Liukin, aka the all-around gymnastics gold medalist, arrives for her taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday in Chicago, Ill. Oprah booked Millennium Park, a 4,000 seat outdoor stadium in downtown Chicago, for her first show of the new season, during which she’ll honor 150 Olympic athletes.
Other athletes honored at the show: eight-time gold medalist swimmer Michael Phelps, gymnast Shawn Johnson, swimmer Dara Torres, Kobe Bryant and the men’s basketball team, and the women’s and men’s volleyball teams. American Idol winner David Cook also gives a surprise performance at the show.
According to WWD, here’s what else Nastia, 18, has lined up:
– Cover Girl ads
– Gossip Girl cameo
– Nastia‘s image will be featured on a Wheaties box
– The possibility of a line of activewear with GK
– Vanilla Star Jeans aims to launch Nastia Liukin Gold jeans and tops for holiday
– She has a stake in Beaconstreetgirls.com, a tween Web site that vends fashion and beauty items, home décor and books.
Nastia will also be traveling to New York for Fashion Week. “Maria Sharapova invited me,” Nastia said. “I’m going to Peter Som – front row – Isaac Mizrahi and Cole Haan.”

i’m so glad she won the all-around competition. I thought she was way more marketable than the shawn johnson. good for her on cashing in on her gold medal!
She looks like Heather Mills (a.k.a. former Mrs. Paul McCartney) evil twin sister. Olympic great? Yes. Looker? Nope. Good for her on cashing in on her 15 minutes tho.

She has HUGE hands for only being 5’4″. I think I noticed her feet were big too. I”m 5’4″ and my hands and feet are miniature compared to hers. Weird.
Why are all the gymnasts hair so thin? It must be from wearing it in a tight pony all the time.

Maria is such a joke right now. She has time to attend fashion shows but not play in tournaments. Oh, that’s right – the Williams sisters are kicking ass, no wonder she has a ‘shoulder injury’.
Yay, I’ve always liked her better than Shawn Johnson. They are both better role models then what most girls see these days.

all you people who are not gymnast dont know how hard she and all of the olympic gymnast have worked to get that far. They are all amazing.
Nastia is so cool and awesome, i’m so happy she made it as far as she did. i really hope she goes to the 2012 olympics!
