CosmoGirl Folds!!!

CosmoGirl Folds!!!

Hearst Magazines’s CosmoGirl is being shut down, reports WWD.

The teenage spin-off of Cosmopolitan, which targeted teenage girls and featured fashion and celebrities, will finish off with its December issue. (Scarlett Johansson was just featured on its November 2008 cover.)

CosmoGirl‘s subscriber base will be folded into fellow Hearst title Seventeen.

Editor in chief Susan Schulz will be “staying on at Hearst to work on special projects.”

All of these poor teen titles!

Heeey, i’m saad. My sister’s subscribed to that magazine and I sometimes read it too. They tend to have some nice real life stories of sturggle and survival for young girls that I really liked. In fact some of them scared you off so much that you wouldn’t even want to leave your house or be in a 5 mile radius of a male organism.

Thank goodness!! Teach girls to be educated and athletic. Most of that magazine was materialistic fluff.

  • whatever, yo

That’s sad. I used to love CosmoGirl. But once I got to college, I stopped buying all those magazines. I think in the late 90s early 00′s they were really great… and alot of my friends and I bought it.. but now, everything is online, so no one really cares.

Seventeen has been out FOREVER and will continue being one of the top top late teen-early 20s magazines!

being a subsriber of this magazine, this honestly doesn’t bother me a bit or shock me for that matter. this magazine was actually really boring to me and it seemed like it was just another seventeen magazine, just crappier.

There are too many mags out there pretty much with the same content, so this one had to go. I don’t really care, but Seventeen is better I believe.

    i’m really annoyed with this..
cosmogirl has a way better layout than seventeen and teenvogue.
plus the whole thing is about more than clothes ang guys. It’s a little bit of teenage life in a magazine.
seventeen is hair and guys. cosmogirl was all about self-respect, safe sex, and sisterhood.

Thanks so much for this good blog;this is the stuff that keeps me on track through these day. I’ve been looking around for your site after being referred to them from a buddy and was pleased when I was able to find it after searching for some time. Being a demanding blogger, I’m pleased to see others taking initivative and contributing to the community. I just wanted to comment to show my approval for your work as it’s very encouraging, and many bloggers do not get appreciation they deserve. I am sure I’ll drop by again and will recommend to my friends.
