Kirsten Dunst PSA: Vote On Tuesday!

Kirsten Dunst gives her perspective about voting in a new get-out-the-vote PSA for Why Tuesday?, an organization seeking solutions to increase voter turnout and participation in elections. Here’s what she says:

“Hi! I’m a famous Hollywood actress. I get paid to show my face and I’ve been in a lot of my movies. So, if you saw my face, you’d know what they are. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is that you vote for on Tuesday, November 4th. It’s very important to voice how you feel and vote for you who feel is best for the job. Today, America ranks near the bottom of all countries in voter turn-out. We can turn that on. Log onto whytuesday.org and find your polling place. Come on, Let’s BRING IT ON and do this.”

The PSA was directed by Derek Waters. Election Day is November 4. To find your polling place, visit WhyTuesday.org.

Expect loads of comments saying “I’m sick of celebrities telling us who to vote for.”

They’re not forcing you to vote for anyone. If you’re sick of these videos, stop watching them!

All she said in this video is it’s very important to voice how you feel and vote. How can you fell like she’s “telling you who to vote for” when she merely ask people to vote?

LolaSvelt, you obviously dont get it. Theres a difference between encouraging people to vote and encouraging people to vote for the person they want. Big difference.

Good idea, but it came out creepy and wrong.

why did they block out her face and distort her voice? we know who it is anyway, so what’s the point?

“I’ve been in a lot of my movies”?

seriously, she NEVER mentioned who to vote for, all she said was go vote.

So glad she says to just get out and vote instead of telling us who to vote for!!! I really hate resent when they do that!

The PSA is for an organization seeking solutions to increase voter turnout and participation in elections not for people to vote for a certain candidate. It’s just to get people to vote period.

Wasn’t that clear from the article?!

i don’t think the democrats need anymore publicity to get people to the polls, they have ACORN registering the dead, felons & football teams.

If there are people who don’t get the difference between somebody telling them to vote (the way Kirsten does) and somebody telling them who to vote for (the way Kirsten doesn’t), then I’m really scared of how this election is going to turn out.

I, for my part, appreciate that celebrities are willing to put their time to good cause and get as many people to vote as possible. Regardless of the candidate.

I VOTE therefore I AM!
