Ellen DeGeneres to Sarah Palin: Shame On You!

Ellen DeGeneres voices her disapproval over Gov. Sarah Palin stance on banning gay marriage on a federel level.

On her talk show, which airs today, Ellen joked, “I told you all I’ve been watching CNN a whole lot lately. I’ve been watching it way too much I think because they’ve invited me to their Christmas party.

She continued, “I don’t know if you saw this, but Vice Presidential Candidate, Governor Sarah Palin says she’s that in favor of a federal ban on gay marriage. Basically wants to change the constitution.

“So if you’re wondering, I’m sure you are, how I feel about this. I don’t like, I don’t like it. I don’t agree. Maybe it’s because I’m gay that I think we should all be equal. but I feel that we’re all equal.

“I don’t know what people are scared of maybe they think that their children will be influenced. I gotta say I was raised by two heterosexuals. I was surrounded by heterosexuals just every where I looked heterosexuals and they did not influences. I mean I dabbled in high school, who didn’t? Everyone dabbled, ya know?

“People are gonna be who they’re gonna be. And we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love.”

    agreed!

  • Rach

You speak sense Ellen. Unlike the Republicans.

  • Vbecksaholic

Hilarious, and so true! I love Ellen. Sarah Palin is not in favor of a ban on gay marriage, thats probably what John told her to say! She cant make a formidable opinion.

  • the truth

She shouldn’t be allowed on tv. Talk about hatred, that woman is full of hate. Ellen shouldn’t be allowed on tv.

  • Maria (Shorty)

YOU ROCK IT ELLEN!!!! YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH MAMA!!

  • Mary

Umm Ellen – Obama is against gay marriage as well.

  • anonymousdiva

Got the facts to back up that statement, Mary?

  • jones

yea didn’t she watch the VP debate. Biden says he and nobama are agsinst gay marriage as well. So now who is Ellen going to vote for.

  • jones

anonymousdiva you must be an ignorant person who did NOT watch the VP debate. Joe Biden said he and nobama were AGAINST gay marriage. Same position as McCain/Palin. Both campaigns have the same view.

  • Janeway

I Love you Ellen! Tell that b**ch what you think. I am straight and married and think it is a crime for people to tell others that they do not deserve the same happiness that they enjoy! Marriage should be between two people who love each other and want to make a family. Something is seriously wrong with people that want to stop love. We all need to learn love and tolerance for others different from ourselves, we have lots of problems in this world and we are only going to solve them if we all work together.

  • YO

Obama is not for gay marriage….hmm….YOU GO SARAH PALIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO PHILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cheifs

#9 EXACTLY. BUT SEE OBAMA IS ALREADY PAID EVERYONE OFF SO THEY JUST LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK RIGHT ON PAST THAT!

  • jones

biden did not release his brain scan with his medical records. Very interesting – that must mean he has no brain.

  • OH SNAP

you tell that stupid b*tch ellen!!! WOOT WOOT

    obama/biden 08

  • ralph

Biden says the stupidest things. He scares me.

  • tommy

I think that obama should donate all of his campaign money to the country to help the shaky economy. It can go towards his TRILLION dollars in new government programs.

  • rexxy

nobama opposes trickle down economics but he supports trickle up poverty.

  • margaret

I wonder what closet he has been hiding Rev. Wrong and Father Fagler, Bill Ayres and Tony Resco in. I hope they come out of the closet before the election is over.

  • Suzie

Unlike Palin, Obama is NOT for a federal ban on gay marriage. In fact, even McCain is against the ban. So to equate Palin’s stance with Obama’s on this issue is wrong.

  • mar

Rach, you are misinformed. NOT all republicians are anti gay marriage. That is like saying they are for the war. Obviously, you are informed and just dumb. Shame on Ellen for stating her political views on air. Noone is against gay partnerships and they can have equal rights thru domestic partnerships..But the legal definition of marriage is bet, man and woman.

  • *S*

There is a distinct difference between not supporting gay “marriage” and a constitutional ban like Palin. Obama/Biden does support civil unions which recognizes all the same rights and privileges of a traditional “marriage”.

  • Carey

I’m pretty sure Obama has no plans to changing the constitution.. It can be a difference

  • katie

obama may not approve of gay marriage but unlike palin he does not believe that it is his place to make it illegal. i can not stand this woman and nothing, and i mean nothing would ever get me to vote for mccain, because a vote for him is basically a vote for her to be president, since he is SO not gunna last 4 years/.

  • kendra

Who cares what this dyke has to say

  • tia

i totally agree!!!! i think it is appauling that people think gay marriage should be banned! its just as bad as racism as its just another form of discrimination. im shocked that parents think it is ok to raise their children to be homophobic.

  • Sumr

    To Tommy;

Obama is putting his campaign donations right back into the community. These funds are used to PAY people for their services, and products. That campaign nonsense of McCain’s already backfired.

  • gina

Ellen is so right. Banning this on a Federal level is wrong. Shame on Palin!

  • Cynthia

She was raised by heterosexuals, she was raped before. Many people in this world has been violated, but that doesn’t mean that they should be gay though. People that endure such a tragic event like that should seek counseling. I have nothing against homosexuals, but I agree with Sarah Palin about gay marriage. It should be outlawed.

  • Sumr

Palin also said during an interview — and also during the debate — that she wants the VP slot to have much broader powers over the US Senate. I just couldn’t believe my ears. This “interpretation” of the US Constitution, so she says, would give the VP slot more power to get the goals and objectives of the president realized. That, as another poster said recently, is totalitarianism. Keep in mind, that the US Senate has to approve by a majority vote, of the president’s appointment of any Supreme Court Justice. Sorry, but this woman just doesn’t have both of her oars in the water.

  • anonymousdiva

Gimme a break, jones – are you really this stupid?

I have a news flash for you: one VP candidate saying he and his candidate are against gay marriage does not equal a federal ban on gay marriage. It’s a system of checks and balances, and the real power (veto or not) is divided among the President, the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Or didn’t you ever learn what an actual democracy is in junior high school?

  • Kelly Nicholaides

No, everyone did NOT experiment with homosexuality, as you say, Ellen. Not everyone wanted to be a flaming homo like you and not everyone wants to kiss a girl like the media throws in our faces constantly pushing the gay agenda. Pathetic. And for the record, banning gay marriage on a federal level is NOT against the Constitution. THe COnstitution protects marriage between a man and a woman.
Get civilly committed and expand the rights to include the same as marriage. But don’t call it a marriage because that is NOT what it is.
Now go put on your strap on, bitch.

  • francesca

you gotta love ellen!!!!!!! she’s the best and she says exactly what’s on her mind………Ellen for president????

  • LadyDelish

Sarah Palin is not trying to change the constitution. She is trying to UPHOLD the constitution. I understand Ellen’s frustration… but the law is the law.

  • anonymousdiva

What’s pathetic here is Kelly’s ignorant and hate-filled comments.

    Pathetic and sad.

  • Jules

Ellen would definitely be a better VP than Palin! I can’t wait for Nov 4th

  • Avhnz

@ margaret That’s the problem with people in the world today. Your more worried about the negative than the positive. Ayers he was 8 yrs old. Do you even remember when you were 8? Of course you may have brief memories but that’s about it. Your very naive & can be easily lead by what you hear. I bet you believe that he’s a terrorist & a muslim too right???

Do you think that McLame care’s about you? B/c he doesn’t I can assume that no one on this site is pulling in more than 250k & that’s the range that he cares about. You must have enjoyed the last 8 yrs of your life with W the complete moron. Our economy is suffering right now & that’s all you can talk about.

    That’s just sad!!!

  • Obama is against gay marriage

she should become more informed instead of just reacting on things she reads in blogs.

  • Sumr

No, LadyDelish, she is trying to change the US Consitution; in more ways than one. I don’t have anything against Palin, but it’s already been determined that she violated state ethics laws, violated the trust of her constituents, and abused her power. There’s more revelations coming out every day. Her popularity in Alaska has dropped 20 percentage points in the past 8 weeks. That’s quite a big drop in such a short time. Seems that this “anti-corruption and fiscal responsibility” platform she ran on was just more political BS.

  • what?

There is no constitutional right for two gay people to get married. Ellen is wrong.

  • HA!

    #31 KELLY

She said she dabbled at being HETEROSEXUAL in high school…not HOMOSEXUAL…LMAO

If you hate her that’s fine…just try control your blind rage, so you can read the joke…which is quite funny.

  • s

    Ban gay marriage.

  • katie

people who want to ban gay marriage are disgusting. your no better than the racist. gay people who want to get married have NO affect on your lives! what if there was a law saying straight people couldnt married??? that just wouldnt happen because its so ridiculous and discrimintory so why should this be any differant!!!! its like some of you have never heard of separation of church and state!

  • jesse

The world wouldbe abetter place…without people like ellen in it ;)

  • t

    go ellen!

  • Hail Palin

Palin is a Nazi, a half-wit nazi, but a Nazi none the less.

  • Kelly #31

You misunderstood. Ellen experimented with sex in high school, straight sex. She dated guys.

Secondly, Palin wants to add an amendment tot he Constitution, Ellen was correct on that point also.

    The above is fact.

Your point that that Palin s upholding the Constitution is opinion, your opinion. The Supreme Court makes that decision, not you or any other fascist.

  • Palin the Fascist? yes

The republicans already had the bible thumping mid-mest in their pockets, they had the religious right, the zealots, but no…..Palin the genius has to announce she will seek a constitutional ban on gay marriage. (perhaps she beelives she would have that power as VP?)
Palin’s fascist arrogance won’t allow her to see that many Americans will vote against anyone who suggests removing freedoms of any type.

Palin has cost McCain even more votes. Can’t the GOP afford a muzzle for their bimbo?
