OlderTilda Swinton is Honored At AFI
Tilda Swinton is honored at the AFI Film Festival 2008 in “A Tribute to Tilda Swinton” at Club Sushi in LA on Wednesday.
At the film festival, Tilda admitted, “”I’m not sure I’ve ever become an actress to be honest with you.”
“I’m a kind of fraud because I don’t really feel like an actress, I slipped into it in such a strange way,” the 48-year-old actress said.
“I was always supposed to be a writer and it’s just displacement activity really, acting in films – it’s my way of being a film fan close to the camera,” Tilda said on the red carpet.

yeah well to # 1 and i’m sure if any of the other stars weren’t wearing eye makeup they would look ugly– she’s not ugly she has a very nice jaw line/proprotions and a very natural look
She’s in the spotlight because she’s a great actress, very intelligent and funny, and she’s got charisma, unlike all those reality stars.
But if anyone even has to ask, that says more about the poster than about Tilda.

I agree, Nania. And she’s actually quite pretty when she bothers to fix up in the slightest bit. I think it’s cool that she doesn’t bend to the Hollywood way of doing things, including her looks.
And she’s an incredible actress. Maybe the rest of you didn’t see Michael Clayton or Thumbsucker or you would know that.
She is a great actress, but come on now. Get some make-up on and get out of those ugly clothes. It all comes with the territory.
I can understand going a bit au natural but come on put a bit of make up please – for yourself if not for anyone else, all those flashing lights can’t be flattering.

I don’t like the clothes but I think her androgynous look is pretty cool, it’s refreshing to see someone in hollywood who doesn’t need a “mask” to have a career

she is youun looking cannot believe that she is almost forty. NOt anything like most celebrities in HW do when approaching 50! (look at madonna’s face for example)
