All About the Obamas

All About the Obamas

As President-elect Barack Obama prepares for his new role of Commander-in-Chief, he, wife Michelle, and daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, chat with the weeklies on how they plan to handle the transition.

People reports that their new lives will be quite a change (new home, new friends, new dog), but Michelle shares with OK!: “We try to keep things really normal.”

Though they’ll be moving into the spotlight, Michelle tells Us Weekly she plans to have her girls stick to the same low-key routines–”homework, chores, dance and soccer”–they had before becoming the First Family.

As for Barack himself, Michelle knows he’ll stay committed to family as they move into their new life: “He’s an incredible husband and father. Not sure if the world knows yet, but they should!”

I wonder if they’ll plaster it all over the front pages when he has his first affair as president. I hear women, especially down South, cannot wait for him to travel without Michelle.

Well these magazines will all be collector’s items and really, Sen Obama deserves to be on the cover. . I would stick with People magazine since it’s like the NY Times of the celebrity tabloid world. They should have just but Michelle & Barack on there but oh well.

Love them! I wish them the best in their new life and I will always keep them in my prayers, because they will need all the prayer one can give because of the ignorance that is still in this country.

sillyme #1……you are such an ass! Look at what you are thinking about! Why can’t you just try to be nice for once! Obama spent his entire campaign despite the smear campaign McCain/Palin threw at him to unite this country and this is your post upon seeing the family on the mags. That is so sad.

#11 – Right on the money, about the tabloids.

WTF, why are they doing interviews/covers for tabloids??? The man is the new president elect, with this country in the economic state that it’s in this is seriously questionable and hopefully not an indication of whats to come. Time or Newsweek definately, but US, People and OK? Someone please tell me this a joke.

  14. 14
    Okay? Says:

The tabloids are reporting on the Obamas just like all other publications. Did the Obamas SPEAK to all these publications all over the country and the globe? NO! The magazines are putting together a story and profile on this histroy making man with all the pictures they could find and all quotes they could fin and regurgitating back to the public. It;s like a glorified book report.

Is this man a celebrity or the next Commander In Chief?

No wonder leaders of other coutries don’t take him seriously! And that’s scary.

#13 – Ugh. There are soooooo many haters out there… Yes, he’s the President Elect and yes, US, People, and OK magazine aren’t exactly cream-of-the-credibility-crop periodicals but so what? You seem to forget about the large number of Americans that read them and the potential benefits. These publications speak to a very large cross-section of the American public and to their core values, gossip rags or not. Thankfully, not everyone takes life as seriously as you do #13, nor should they. The political, economic, and social climate right now is EXACTLY why the Obamas are doing interviews like this. In hard times, people need distractions, a reminder that life can still be pleasant, that there is still good in the world and what better place to look for those signposts of optimism than from our leaders? It is essential for the social psychological health of the public at large. The Obamas realize this, why don’t you? You also seem to think that he’s in a position to run the country already and that he should go and solve the economic crisis at hand. I’m sure once he is ACTUALLY the President he will do just that, but for now let’s look to the future with the same air of positivity that radiates from the Obamas. Your narrow minded negative views have no place in building the future of this nation. That, #13, is no joke – but you are…

    ladybug Says:

i think the obamas are willing to reach out to americans wherever they can find them. considering how many of us read newsweek vs how many of us read people and other “tabloids” it behooves them to do interviews with all of the above.

  20. 20
    Rj Says:

There’s always more to it than you think…

  21. 21
    WTF? Says:

save all of our rants for the tabloids. you people never never blame tabloids for trying to make a quick buck on the dumb public. you watch, they will try to report on stupid things like what the Obama girls wear to parties, etc…Blame the tabloids, target your displeasure to their editors. you need to put blame on the correct people. stop being so backwards.

  22. 22
    Jo Ann Says:

Yet again double standards. Sarah Palin was made fun of and criticized when she was on all the covers. None of it was Palin’s fault. Now there is silence when it comes to the Obama’s.

    yep Says:

lol at sillyme. i’m already sick of this crew and they haven’t even started. i guess i won’t watch tv for another 4 years.

Such beautiful family! They are so very loving towards each other it’s just great to see them.

    Best of luck!

  25. 25
    yep Says:

JoAnn, at least Michelle has a law degree and was a lawyer. Palin was as stupid as they come and a bimbo to boot. No substance.
