Just got back from seeing the movie. BAD. Campy, cheesy, lots of the best parts of the plot from the book aren’t even there. They turned it into a sort of comedy at certain points. The flashback scenes were painfully bad. Casting on Rosalie & Renee was terrible. Special effects were disastrous. Movie score? TERRIBLE.

I expected more and am dissapointed. Bella on her Mac googling quillute legend was ridiculous. The Port Angeles scenes were all wrong.

Robert & Kristen absolutely have chemistry and the story COULD have been done MUCH MUCH MUCH better.

Also, the usage of 2 of the best lines from the book, “my exact brand of heroin” and “So the lion fell in love with the lamb” are soooooo bad and cheesy here. It’s uncomfortably bad how cheesy Catherine made some of this stuff.

GOD he is gorgeous! He makes my knees weak. I’m in love with him and I’m not even a Twilight fan. I’ve never even read the book, and I already think he’s amazing.

    straight? Says:

what we all really want to know is if he’s straight or not. I haven’t heard anything about him having a girlfriend so I’m beginning to wonder if he’s gay. So many young actors are either gay or swing both ways nowadays cough chace.

    Jaded Says:

Are you kidding? It was awful! Instead of playing him angst ridden Robert played Edward mentally deficient for the first half of the movie. Not to mention that they decided to cut out a bunch of parts of the book and instead did these stupid montages. The flashback scenes were ridiculous, the makeup was awful (hey if you’re going to make someone pale you might not want to leave them with a mask that ends at the chin line), the cinematography was amateur, the score was unbearable at best, and I can’t image that the director was sober. Yes there was chemistry between Robert and Kristen, but not enough to carry the movie through.
I loved the books, I gave up sleep to go see the movie at midnight, and I have to say that it was painful. I had to actually hold my hand in front of my mouth to keep from laughing out loud during some scenes i.e., the glitter skin scene, or the first time he smells her in the science lab, but the cream of the crop was when her was sucking her arm. Do yourself a favor read the book again and skip the movie. And to the people responsible for making it, let someone else take on the next one. You not only didn’t do the book justice, but you made it a laughing stock.

There has been so much hype about these actors in the film. It may seem great for them, but later on when they go on to do other films it may not be that easy for them not to be typecast.

    Christina Says:

Jeez, he’s so addicting. I’ll probably wait a while until I watch Twilight. I don’t want to be insanely obsessed.
