OlderShia LaBeouf is an 'Associate' Hire
Shia LaBeouf will headlline the upcoming legal thriller The Associate, based on John Grisham‘s book of the same name.
According to Variety, the 22-year-old actor will play a student who’s about to graduate from Yale Law School when he’s manipulated into accepting a job at a prestige law firm and given privileged information about a multibillion-dollar lawsuit.
The novel hasn’t even been released yet–it will be published in January by Random House.

*Yawn* What is it about Shia starring in really boring, predictable thriller type movies as of late? First Eagle Eye, now a Grisham film. And hasn’t this Grisham movie already been made? With Matt Damon/ Gene Hackman/Tom Cruise (“The Firm” anyone? HELLO??) / GENE friggin HACKMAN (yes him again) & god knows how many other actors-in-Grisham-vehicles I’m forgeting. It doesn’t matter anyway- they’re all the same.
Love you so much Shia, but looks like this will be another snorefest of yours I will be missing out on. Can’t wait for NY I love you though.
I think Shia is amazing, but I’d like to see him do less mainstream crap. Something more edgey, cause if he does too many bloated mainstream movies like grisham and transformers, he’s going to start to come off like a snoozefest.
Do an indie, shia, that’s where you’ve always shined best!

I guess I would still watch it but I hope he would get edgier roles next time.

Shia = Tom (action hero), Rpattz = Depp or Ledger (LA is BBM2), Zefron = ??? (really don’t see him as Leo cause he’s too cleancut for my taste)

I love Shia movies!!! He is interesting to watch and he’s really a good young actor. I think both Shia and Emile Hirsh will be around a long time, careerwise. I hope he will settle down in his personal life. He’s had a lot of turbulence growing up, so I understand why he gets wild. Plus, he is young. He’s probably kind of crazy, but I like him.
I love shia LaBeouf in any movie that he choose to do.That what make actors grow.Wish that HC would have gotten it instead of mona lisa.Both i still like both actors whatever they do.

Woo HOO a real actual grown up role where he plays a successful college student, budding lawyer.. with very little explosions hopefully and only having to slightly jog vs run full speed (kidding Shia..I love you man).. dare I hope for a sex scene?
