Evan Rachel Wood is Broadway's Mary Jane Watson

Evan Rachel Wood has been cast as Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man Broadway musical, reports IESB.

Maybe that’s Evan has been experimenting with dying her hair red?

Evan said the higher-ups are “still trying to convince” Jim Sturgess (her Across the Universe costar) to take the role of Peter Parker.

Spider-Man: The Musical will be helmed by ATU director Julie Taymor with Bono and The Edge of U2 providing the music and lyrics. Rehearsals start in June 2009 and will hit the Broadway stage by mid-2010.

I love Evan Rachel Wood. :P She has an awesome voice, too. :D I think she looks better with a dirty-blonde hair color, though.

AHHHH! JIM! :D Hahaha, Jim Sturgess is amazing. Truly, he’s very talented, gorgeous, and his accent is to die for! I hope they sign him, as well. Him and Evan have such great chemistry. :)

And the ATU director + Bono? Why not just make an Across the Universe 2? No.. Please, don’t. Let us enjoy the first one, and not ruin it with a bad sequel! Not saying the sequel would be bad, but seriously, I don’t think it’d be possible to live up to the first.

i dont know about this. I DON’T KNOW ABOUT THIS AT ALL!
now i like some things that are going on here. And In fact i like them a lot.
I happen to love musicals. i happen to love them a lot (West Side Story is my very favorite of all time)
i happen to be a comic book hero fan and like Spiderman and have all the movies and watch the cartoon and think Peter Parker is coolshit!
and last but not least U2 is effin awesome and it would be awesome to have a musical backed by Bono and The Edge. it really defintaely would…..
but why and god’s name do we have to make Spiderman into a musical. why does everything have to be made into a musical. i feel like they make everything into a musical now just to do it and it is getting really annoying and stupid. this is a bad idea and pretty stupid. and it looks liek it is in the works already. the two things have nothing to do with each other it just seems so lame. i am pretty mad about this!!! uhh and i don;t like this even rachel wood girl at all. i hope U2 doesnt do it.

Well, just because they were making it into a musical doesn’t mean they needed Kirstin singing in the actual third movie. That part was not fun at all, lol…. Hmmm, I like musicals, I’m just wondering how are they going to do this one….

That would be so awesome if they did another musical together. I’d see it. :)

that’s hilarious, getting all the people from “across the universe” to go on broadway with each other. (if you can remember, Bono sang a couple of songs in “across the universe.) and evan rachel wood has a surprisingly good voice, she’s going to be great. i’m not madly in love with jim sturgess’ voice though.

    jade and alexandra Says:

Evan Rachel Wood does not ever need to play a pretty girl sweetheart in any films after her episodes with the dark side of Marilyn Manson, because quite honestly opposites like that don’t attract, so in conclusion she must be a freak underneith her sweet, innocent vail. She and Jim Sturgess should have of gotten the hook up instead.

    Fuckkk you Evan!!!!!!!!

    hollander Says:

She’s pretty enough, but she has a hard, icy quality in her eyes. Y’know like she’d look right through you and you’re standing in front of her. People can say what they want about Kirsten Dunst playing MJ in the films but she brought a warmth and vulnerability to MJ. Wood doesn’t seem like a nice person.
