Whitney Port Covers Page Six Magazine

Whitney Port Covers Page Six Magazine

Whitney Port is trading in Los Angeles and The Hills for her own NYC reality show, The City. But is she the next Carrie Bradshaw?

On her cast mates from The Hills: “I still talk to them every now and again—obviously, we’ve been part of such a big thing together, so we’re close in that way—but I was never too close with Audrina and Heidi. But Lauren and I talk. If anybody knows what I’m going through right now it’s her.”

On how she came to be on reality TV: “I had an interview [for an internship at Teen Vogue] and then got a phone call from MTV a couple of days later. They were like, ‘We’re shooting this documentary-style TV show about girls growing up in L.A. and the fashion industry, blah blah blah’ and I was like, ‘OK that’s interesting, whatever.’ And the next thing I knew they wanted to cast me on the show. But I was really just trying to get the job at Teen Vogue!”

On why the guys in New York City are better than in L.A.: “I was recently in L.A., and I couldn’t help but think, ‘Oh my gosh, everyone is kind of the exact same here.’ You have all these guys in the entertainment industry who are just trying to be smooth and super-cool. The guys [in New York] are [still] trying to be cool—guys do that everywhere—but they’re more confident and they know what they want.”

On handling her critics: “I’ve never really noticed anyone giving me a hard time. Maybe they are and I’m just naïve. But I figure if I just stay true to myself and I am the Whitney that I’ve always been, people will look at me not as Whitney from the show, but as a human being.”

    ???? Says:

I tried to watch the Hills a few times and this girl always came across as really stupid and boring. I just don’t get this Hills trend. I did think she had a couple more brain cells than Audrina, though.

The new Carrie Bradshaw?! AS IF!!!!! This girl is dumb and a complete embarrassment to the fashion industry. Whoever wrote that caption for her should be fired. Besides I’m pretty sure LC was gunning for the title of the next Carrie Bradshaw – which is also laughable.

First off, love this girl. I bet she makes her parents so proud! Secondly, she’s so right about men outside of Los Angeles being better. I feel sorry for girls who think this is the best they can do. The guys here (most of them) are very insecure or very arrogant and are such lemmings. I’m so glad I traveled and was able to learn that. The dudes here are bred just for display and not substance. What a sad waste!

Someone please tell me why they are making false celebrities of the The Hills cast? And the new Carrie Who writes this stuff? It’s coming from Page Six so it really has not weight.

The new Carrie Bradshaw?…are you kidding me? I loved her on the hills, but there’s NO way she can carry a show herself. Even in trying to watch the previews I get bored. She’s a very nice person, but not interesting enough. You can definitely tell her show is more scripted than the hills!

Here’s my question, if Brody and Whitney are gone, why is the hills continuing? Audrina, Lauren, and Heidi can only cat fight so much.

its really sad that reality tv stars these days are treated and look at as actual actors and actresses. I mean really, why is she on a magazine? what HAS she done?…….NOTHING! shes just on mtv! annnnddd ontop of that shes probably the most boring person on that whole freakin station. I dont know how she is going to carry her own show since she cant seem to make any decisions for herself without little lauren alongside.

    lalamala Says:

not everybody has to be a ***** like lauren in order to make a reality show interesting. she is genuine and true to herself and i admire her for that. and i’m looking forward to the city. hope it will be more about fashion and not just stupid drama and cat fights like in the hills.

Being that I am one of the LA douchebags that Whitney speaks of when she knocks LA guys, I felt the need to craft a response. Here is my take on Whitney’s NY guys vs. LA guys comment:

    Marieme Says:

Don’t indict yourself, Matt! There’s always exceptions. No one questions there are great guys in L.A. – only that the culture of posing and faux cool-ness are really overwhelming. A lof of guys (and girls!) need to be checked. S’all.

**** this ****, mother damn fuckers.

    she’s a ******* cool ******* girl.
