OlderDaniel Radcliffe Visits 'Spring Awakening'
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe visits the cast of Spring Awakening on Broadway backstage at The Eugene O’Neill Theater in New York City on Sunday night.
The 19-year-old British actor supported his fellow Broadway stars, Spring Awakening cast members Hunter Parrish (Melchior), Alexandra Socha (Wendla) and Gerard Canonico (Moritz).
Spring Awakening, the Tony Award-winning rock musical with music by Duncan Sheik, announced it will close on Broadway on January 18, 2009.
Daniel is currently featured in his own Broadway play, Equus.

It’s not a point of view it’s an insult. There are many short actors in hollywood – in fact some of the best are. Yet every time there is a photo of him they want to call him short – because they have **** else to say. He’s gracious to his fans, he’s gorgeous, talented (getting praise), intelligent, richer then most of the people bashing him can ever hope to be, and I know not what else. Great pictures!

Dan got excellent reviews for Equus, but there are not enough seats sold. It is selling only about half the seats for every performance. Of course he’s rich enough so he doesn’t need any more big successes financially, but I am sure he is not happy that the play is not more popular. In general he appears very very nice for an actor, most of whom grow very big egos. His seems to have stayed normal size.

Since Spring Awakening has been running since 2006 and Dan’s play is not doing very well, he probably wants to find out what the secret is of having a long running show on Broadway. The Harry Potter movies were super successful, but Dan has had his failures, like December Boys and now this run of Equus in New York that has had trouble filling the seats every night.
