I’ll go out on a limb and probably get bashed for it, but here is my take on the naysayers. If you’ve followed this relationship (in the press) of Dan and Sats it strikes some as cold and distant (remember in the press and sometimes with the paps as well). Then all of sudden during the royal premiere of qos Dan shows some emotion towards her, i.e., more than holding her hand. To some it was a signal, but a signal for what? I think that is what has driven some of the “disagreements” on this site. For the naysayers, it looks very staged, almost a cover – but why, and why now? No one seems to know the answer or if they do they’re not telling – as if anyone would want to know anyway.
I really think you have (or used to have) 3 types of posters on JJ concerning Dan and Sats. The first and now the most frequent, are the naysayers, who might be Dan’s fans but do not like Sats.
Second, are the Sats lovers, who will chime in when their side is “proven” correct, but mostly they stay away – presumedly staying on other sites more favorable to their POV like dtd.
Lastly, and sadly, you have the “in-between-ers”. Who are IMHO almost gone or hardly ever post (Lou Lover, Daniel Lover, Kitty Duran, Clara, Anne, etc.) They are Daniel fans, they accept Sats but reserve the right to critique (sp?) her or both of them in their relationship and fashion. They also serve as sort of moderators and devils advocates trying to get each side to see the big picture instead of going for the throat.
These days on St. Bart’s have been in some ways manna from heaven for all involved – esp. sites like JJ – and don’t forget (as someone mentioned that Lainey has been on vacation). I’m sure she will give it a good spin and maybe she’ll mention that Dan is not Cuba. ;)

I totally get that its the price fame and fortune bring with it and I would understand more if it was just one set of pictures but the man is clearly being followed with a camera everywhere he goes which I think is really sad. And the saddest thing is that his daughter is with him who clearly doesnt want to be photographed and who can blame her. I just think they should be left in peace to enjoy whats left of their holiday before he has to come back to reality and sell his next film.

They married in this ceremony of sorts then the PDA during QoS and declaration of love was to ease Satsuki into the public eye as his wife.

It has been said on JJ many times just look back – one comment about aonther woman was even removed on one of the St Barts sites
and remember it has been an emotional day for many people but i still think of one thing – he was pictured with Heike in Mauritius, all over her and kissing but a month later, they split.
pictures may tell a thousand words but we do not know what is going on internally with these people do we? we do not know the day to day state of their relationship, we do not know the thoughts of these two, but losing tempers and spending emotional energy over this is not worth it. some things do not alst forever, some people do not stay together forever, that is a hard fact of life

They may marry and be happy.

Who knows?
I am sure Daniel has a few lady friends (not lovers) that could really be with him but Satsuki was in the right place at the right time. That’s it.
I know this is hard for many of you but reality is they could split up next month or next year, we don’t know.
If they do then maybe he will “run” to one of the close lady friends then.To reiterate: I mean friends as in supportive and confidential NOT lovers.

I took a very close look at these pictures and these are my observations:
1. When he is walking out of the water in his black speedos, it is almost idential to the picture from Casino Royale;
2. When he is kissing her on the beach, it is identical to the pictures from Casino Royale with Eva Green;
3. When he is holding sats in the water, it is almost identical to the pictures from Casino Royale;
4. They are constantly looking in the direction of the camera/s;
5. She is wearing diamond earings with a bikini.
6. It is a well known fact that dan checks online to see what people are saying.
I can only imagine that he checks his email every morning, and while online he probably takes a quick peek at all the pictures that are circulating of them on vacation.
He must have seen the photos where it looks like they are fighting, he must have seen the other photos where he looks very frosty toward her.
I have a feeling that he decided to make nice with sats so before they leave st. barts, there are pictures of him looking like he loves her.
However, it appears that in order to show affection to sats, he had to go into “character.” It appears that he went into “bond” character to show her affection and while at it, went over the line by doing so in front of his daughter as the other poster pointed out, very inappropriate.
The fact that sats is wearing diamond earrings with her bikini points to one very clear fact, she is trying to look her best, and why would she do that, unless she knows that she is going to be in front of paps on that day, as it is very unusual for a woman to wear expensive diamond earnings when planning on going into the ocean.
The thin band over her engagement ring is most likely for security so she does not loose her engagement ring as the ocean has very strong currents. My friend’s husband lost his wedding band while in spain and in the ocean so I know this can definitely happen.
I am sure that when they wed, she will want a diamond wedding bank as most women do, especially when they are with a man who can afford to buy one!
If you notice her body language, she is incredibly stiff while he is kissing her, while he is touching her, she is not touching him back really, she keeps one hand on her head, which is very unusal when a man is kissing you, it is almost a natural reaction to start lowering your head for a better kiss.
The picture where it looks like he is kissing her hand, she is looking away, not even paying attention to him. This body language shows that she does not appreciate or respect her partner.
If I had seen this behavior from his in the past two round of pictures I may be inclined to say he is happy, however, it is such a sharp and drastic difference, it is clear that he went overboard with his acting on this day.
Either that, or he is suffering from some type of emotional turmoil that he would switch so drastically in his moods from one day to the next.
Until I see something between these two that looks like real emotions, I stand my ground when I say that these two will not marry and have not married yet, and I am one that believes that if he has not cheated on sats yet, he will in the future.
It would have been nice to see him give Ella some fatherly hugs and kissess. Satsuki seems to want all the attention just because she has insecurites. It seem Ella is more mature and if she does have any insecurities regarding her father she hides it well.
I imagine Ella is looking away as she does not want to witness this disguesting act on the part of her father!!

That behaviour is very in character for Satsuki she does not care or repect those around her as long as her needs are statified. It’s almost like she is making Daniel beg but ignoring him will kiss her had or was he picking his nose I really can’t tell. Anyway, no matter how old your child is they will always wish their parents were togehter so I am sure at some level it is difficult for Ella but as long as Satsuki gets what she wants Ella does not matter – completely in tune with her character for sure.

It also occurred to me that if they have been there since Thursday, this is Sunday, it may have been their last day at St. Bart’s before heading back home, and he decided to give a great show for the paps before leaving, and what better of a show than recreating some of the best scenes from CR!
Again, I don’t know if it’s their last day or not, but if it is, it was definitely a great way to say goodbye for the paps.

Okay, let’s say she is really his girlfriend, and not a paid girlfriend or a cover, even though this whole st. barts thing, esp these pictures look really staged.
Couples do have good days no one is disputing that. But we have to look back on the past 3 or 4 yrs, how often have they looked happy, even on this trip for two days all we saw was obvious arguing and coldness.
I think in the past 3 or 4 yrs we have seen about 80% sour faces and misery and then about 20% happy faces, mostly at premiers.
Seems to me they are more sour than happy which means this relationship is very up and down and lets rember that 4 yrs aint that long for a relationship, and it probably isnt going to last for more than 2 or 3 mor yrs.

i’ve been reading all of your comments which are all very interesting. One thing i’d like to point out – is that there are no emotions being showed by Satsuki to Daniel. Where are her kisses, holding hands, hugs to him. If they were/are married – I would at least show a little emotion. I would be all over him. it just seems very odd. Life was imitating art for Daniel Craig this weekend as he relaxed on the beach in St Barts with girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell.
The James Bond actor appeared to be recreating scenes from his 007 debut movie, Casino Royale, as he enjoyed a Christmas break on the exclusive Caribbean island.

I just actually did try to get on some sites, Daily mail in the uk was one, and the Sun, and a few others and the pics were down or taken off and the comments, which earlier were a slew of them, only have about 4 left.
So I actually did try to trace back the articles….
Not speaking abut newspapers, but I nkow that Laineygossip still has her posting up. some other sites like splash, socialitelife, do too,
But the mainstream papers seem to have done some “internal editing.”..or something..
why would they do that unless the PR teams – or someone else- got a hold of the papers…???
1) I don’t think for one nanosecond that Dan would EVER jeopardize/have his daughter and young friend take part in a “pact of any kind! If he did then the “pact” went awry and the press did not hold their end of the bargain (that is not picture Ella and friend or crop/pixel out their faces).
2) If there was such a “pact” it would have been he and Satsuki alone or maybe with other adult friends.
3) Re: the kissing pics – I think he got carried away with the moment, maybe had a few beers in the sun et voila!
4) The thing that DOES bother me is why he would take his daughter and friend to very public beaches in St Barths? Evidently he and Fiona (and Ella) came to the conclusion that time had come for her face to be shown and that goes for the other girl too although Ella and friend tried very hard to conceal their faces in many pics. Confusing!
5) He and Satsuki went to Sandly Lane, Barbados last year and the paps canot get near that private resort unless they are in the water with very long lenses. The beaches Dan and Co were on are PUBLIC beaches, not ONE belonging to a private resort (and there are many on that island).
So the question again is: why go to TWO public beaches and on the cliff top (picnic) which is VERY accessible to press helicopters (from which the pics were taken) in St Barths when you have major exclusitivity available at your finger tips?
They were just ASKING to be snapped. So if there was no “pact” as I think there wasn’t and Dan got carried away with the moment (and it DOES happen) and failed to be reminded by Satsuki that his daughter was behind him (Andy was in the middle) and her friend was standing up looking, then I question the people around him and advising him.
I am not on anyone’s side here as Dan played his part, but when a 16 yr old and another minor is involved, and one party MIGHT have been drinking and not conscious where everyone was situated, I do have to question everyone else’s standards.
Dan himself of course is unscathed here and I would suggest he use discretion in the future. No matter what type of relationship he may have with Ella, a 16 yr old and a minor should be considered, not by a few members of the party but ALL of them.
Drinking in front of them too comes under the spotlight as well but I will refrain from going on about that and the example is sets.

If someone is shooting through a long lens from public waters onto private land, that’s a tricky one. Shooting pics from a helicopter? Again, air space and the height comes into play but again, the picnic was taken on PUBLIC land.
Again, I simply think that not one of his party thought this through and IF there was a plan in place for whatever reason, dragging a 16 yr and a minor into it, is very tacky. One thing is very obvious from where I’m sitting. Men have a tendency to act like idiots until they have a good woman in their lives to help them live better lives. DC has done a great job for himself with his career, but his life is screaming for a good woman to help him live a better personal life. This tramp, as everyone keeps referring to her as, and which label suits her perfectly, is not helping him to live a good personal life. NYE is on Wednesday. In two days, in fact in London it is now a little past 1am. Which makes it Tuesday in London. Which means they will be getting married in one more day London time. So, someone please tell me, where is the marriage certificate. Are they going to be spotted tomorrow walking into the building to apply for their marriage license? Which they have to do personally, no one can do that for them, they have to be present at the time of the license is applied for because they both have to sign the license.
Alsooooooo, it is a little over a ten hour trip from London to St. Barts.
So if they left this morning, they just arrived in London a little bit ago, so they are going to wake up tomorrow, or today (tuesday) in London and run over for their license, and get married on Wednesday.

to #640 — well she doesn’t bother me that much…I don’t spend much time thinking about her, to be honest. But when I see a picture of them together, it just seems such a mismatch. I really don’t understand it at all.
It is not unusual to see gorgeous women with ugly men (think model/rock star combos) and that’s because women aren’t visual — we see through the physical pretty easily. But in general, men don’t. They are very visual by nature, so you hardly ever see a gorgeous guy with an ugly woman….unless it is the peacock syndrome, noted earlier. It’s just such an oddity. Truly makes me think Daniel is probably an oddball in real life.

I have tend to stay off these sites but feel compelled to say my piece:
I have enjoyed Mr Craigs’ works for many years before he became Bond (which I still boggle at) but feel that at this point his celebrity ego/ shadow has surpassed his raw talent.
He has been a very private and reserved man, aware of his own foibles and erratic moods but I see a man emerge that I am beginning to wonder at.
These last few days on St Barths has seen a man, yes relaxing, but a man nonetheless more concerend with his image than before.
Both he and Ms Mitchell display definite peacock/cockeral qualities as well as the liking of two bulls snorting at each other when roused. Normal behaviour for a long term couple I hear you day, maybe.
I find that Ms Mitchell, who has an obvious influence on the man, has indeed soaked up the celebrity by-proxy shadow that she so clearly enjoys but meanwhile has she been the best influence on his instinctual acting? I feel the last few years have provided us with severly mediocre performances give or take a few powerhouse scenes. Infamous, very good, the others including the Bond films, a little too self-concious and anticipatory in their deliveries.
If Ms Mitchell does have “power” , I suggest she helps Mr Craig re-balance and re-centre his focus on what is visceral rather than the physical anatomy of what he has now become known for. Very sad for a man who held so much promise as a young Indie actor who blew the screens away.
I feel that these two personally deserve each other as they are indeed of the same ego and absorbtion rate of the celebrity world but one will burn sooner than the other, one candle will flicker out and two egos cannot be matched eternally. One will and has effected the other to what we see now. Has one ego enhanced the other or has detrimentally degraded the other? That is the question.
If any of his “team” ever do chance to come and read these, I hope this post finds it way there, as I am in turmoil to see his grappling at what he had once. His soul seems distracted throughout the smiles and performances. I cannot even watch his acting now.

As for Ms Mitchell, yes, I can see her becoming professionaly more involved in his career and maybe fronting a production company or some form of business ventture.

She’s pretty much involved with his career right now (if all the comments by him are to be believed). The production company/business venture is very believable – though she might be out of practice… when was the last time she had a hand in producing anything? Was that “The Jacket” released in 2005?

To #643 — I think too many of us probably imagine that he’s like the Bond character because we enjoy him in that role so much – smooth, intelligent, funny, sexy. But I have a feeling, in real life, he’s not like that at all and is probably nothing like we imagine. He’s likely a strange, quirky, insecure person (as most actors are). Notice who he chooses to surround himself with in private life, and that will tell you a lot about the real person vs. who you think he is. (Sats is a case in point — that alone suggests he’s probably a bit odd.)

Hello mag has been referring her as his fiancee for quite some time – captions under some of the premieres at rex features and getty also refer to her as his partner, girlfriend, just Satsuki Mitchell, even one had the caption to read, wife! Really, who knows, neither one has confirmed really one way or another. As one poster mentioned in this thread – why so secret? Just say, we’re engaged and lets go on. Plus, if I were a woman with a big, beautiful diamond on my ring finger I’d let everyone know about it – esp. if I were famous like they are.

I liked DC as Bond. Am not a big Bond Fan. But after CR I liked him. Was eagerly waiting for QoS. Saw it. Liked CR better. Maybe because of Eva and every aspect of the movie was better than QoS.
Anyway, after the latest photos, I too realise that he is pretty odd. If for whatever reason SM is important in his life, then he is odd indeed. My turn off point was his groping her in front of his daughter. Since they are still there, and it is Tuesday, I think the paps were hired- don’t know why or what the “deal” is-
It isn’t like we have never seen her before. The paps are introducing the public to her, or anything like that-
But they ahve had DAYS to go to privacy, somewhere else- on St. Barts or elsewhere and they are still on a public beach– and they continue to LOOK straight at the camera-
