OlderDiddy: Free Taxi Rides on New Year's Eve!

Diddy is offering free cab fare to New Yorkers this New Year’s Eve party goers.
The 39-year-old music mogul and Ciroc premium vodka have teamed up with City Taxi & Limousine Commission and E! Entertainment to distribute thousands of debit cards, valued up to $15.
“New York is the world’s most iconic New Year’s Eve City,” Diddy says. “So let’s lead by example and show everyone that a sophisticated holiday celebration doesn’t just end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely.”
Street teams will distribute the debit cards in the Times Square area and Chelsea’s nightclub areas between 11PM on New Year’s Eve and 3AM on New Year’s Day.

$15? in New York traffic? lol That will only get people a few blocks.
It would make more sense to do this in L.A. I doubt alot of people will be driving in New York City traffic on New Years Eve except cabs. It seems like people wouldn’t have any choice but to take a cab with or without these debit cards.
Agreed with Adriana – this idea would be better marketed in a city such as LA where the inhabitants do not rely heavily on public transportation and cabs. In LA people area ALWAYS in their cars – most of my friends here in NYC don’t even own a car. Hopefully I can score myself some free cab fare :-)

Diddy needs to generate generosity by starting at home, his family is all broken up and he’s too busy partying the night away. If he really was generous he should donate $$ to families in need. This guy just needs to disappear.
Firstly, there will be no cabs available and even those that will be will charge at least 10X more!!! the gypsy cabs charge 15$ to go down 4 blocks! they should just do this in LA makes more sense i agree with y’all.
