DJ AM: I'm Not Suing The Deceased Pilots

Plane crash survivor DJ AM, aka Adam Goldstein, has taken to his blog to clear up some rumors about the lawsuit he filed earlier this month. Here’s what the 35-year-old had to write:

“Normally I don’t feel like I NEED to make a statement like this, but after I read some recently reported untruths I feel like I have to. I want to take a second to address the hurtful posts and clear up any misunderstandings any of you may have about my law suit. I would NEVER sue the deceased pilots’ estates or personal holdings. I am more than grateful that I survived this horrible accident and I’d never try to take anything from those that didn’t. Despite the misinterpretations of the lawsuit, this suit is against the insurance companies that insured the pilots. I’m not after Sarah [Lemmon]‘s or James [Bland]‘ personal estates nor their property. Everyone involved in this suit has suffered a great deal, and I would not do anything to make matters worse for the deceased family and friends. Daily I live with the guilt and grief of what happened that night, what I saw, who was lost and why I was spared. I have no words to express the pain that comes with knowing four people died, while I lived.”

Travis Barker should take a page from AM’s book and drop his suit against the estates of the pilots.

im sure thats what you pay an insurance policy for!…to pay the other party if there is an accident… im also thinking he should sue the company that chartered the planes

# 4

It’s standard procedure to sue an insurance company. My mother was in a plane accident, and the insurance company refused to pay. God bless him, he seems like a nice man.

I’m glad that AM isn’t after the pilots and just thankful to be alive.

# 6

Gosh that almost made me cry! I’m glad he cleared this up.

# 7

Love him he is really lucky to be alive after something so horrible I can’t even imagine what he went through

# 8

Good for him..

there is not need for the families of the pilots to suffer anymore than they already are…

Why sue at all .. You should be grateful that you are alive..What happened to the other passengers that were with you?? that perished
in the fire..Did you forget about them on your way out the door…or trample over them to get out alive and leave them to die.. Think about that for a change…

his blog gave me shivers. i cant imagine what it would feel like to be a survivor while others died. and becky smith.,… did you think perhaps he wants to do some good wih that money? regardless of whether he keeps it or donates it to charity, he is ENTITLED to it. he is probably traumatised and while money wont make it go away, think about if a poor person was in his situation and didnt get a payout and couldnt afford medical bills. make the insurance company pay.

@ Becky Smith.

You hoe, you know NOTHING of how he survived. Don’t talk ****. He realizes that the people have died, that’s why he is suing the insurance companies. Many more can die from similar cases. Honestly, just shut up you uneducated piece of ****.

aw he’s a good guy.

hang in there am!

Exactly, Becky Smith! Why sue at all? The incident is bad enough, but somehow those involved always lose perspective and feel the need to take it further. Most insurance companies will pay for the medical bills and insured liabilities but to demand more is just plain greedy. He should asked himself, “God spared me, so God really wants me to sue? ” People just don’t understand when there’s a settlement, the insurance companies will get their lost revenues by raising everyones’ insurance rates (cars, boats, pilots, doctors, etc.) They only care about what they can get by suing, while society as a whole suffers. It’s the unfortunate norm in American society. SUE! SUE! SUE!

Yeah, he’s just suing all of us who pay insurance premiums.

The reason why he’s suing is because the plane they took shouldn’t have been used at all. It had numerous safety problems.

Wow! I knew he couldn’t be that heartless. And I’m so glad he finally came out and said a thing or two about the rumours that has been going around…
