OlderPete Wentz Loves (And Hates) Brad Pitt
Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz has taken to his blog again to list his “Top 9 Gripes of 2008″ as well as his “Top 9 Favorite Things of 2008″. Strangely enough, Brad Pitt‘s latest movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, made both lists.
GRIPE: “This is a weird one because it’s definitely on my top list as well. I just think i over hyped this in my own head. This gets nowhere near the [F. Scott] Fitzgerald short story based on the Mark Twain quote I would have imagined in my high school brain. I hate how jumpy the movie is and I honestly don’t think there is much chemistry between Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. I also think it’s kind of a cop-out to push it forward some sixty years in my mind just to have it conclude with some relation to Hurricane Katrina.”
FAVORITE: “It’s weird that I put this on both lists but the truth is you can’t deny [Director David] Fincher‘s eyes for film. Also, I give it to Brad Pitt for picking interesting roles. The idea of this narrative is mind-blowing and at times I fell for the story.” (TCCOBB is in theaters now.)
Another notable Top 9 Favorite of Pete‘s: “Watching John Mayer doing Van Halen better than Van Halen in an amphitheater in Southern California. Shirts optional, solos mandatory.”

I loved the movie it was fantastic. There will always be critics out there, can’t please them all. I’ve heard more positive than negative about CCOBB so that’s a plus.
He doesn´t love or hate brad pitt.. He doesn´t like certain things of the movie and likes some parts..
Nothing wrong with somebody giving his point of view. Everybody has different tastes.

This has got to be a slow news day given the insignificance and ridiculousness of this. 1st, who gives a craps about what Pete Wentz thinks about anything? And 2nd, titling the item that way and implying that Pete has some personal feelings for and against Brad Pitt is really misleading. Pete was speaking in reference to a movie, not to Brad personally. Seriously……
People do have different tastes.
I loved the film but I hated Brad Pitt for his lack of emotion when he was younger in the film…

I could agree it he gave his point of view on other movies. Where is his point of view on all the other award contenders or the latest Christmas movies.
His point could be seen as a little skewed since he is great friends with John Mayer who just happens to be dating Brad’s X.
So, it doesn’t come across as innocent as you make it out to be.
It certaintly didn’t do as well as it they thought it was going to do. I have yet to see it but I do plan to even though I think he is a scumbag but he is a good actor.

#9, I doubt that what Pete was getting at, since the blog had 9 gripes and only the 2 that had anything to do with the Pitt/Aniston thing were the only ones mentioned. I don’t think Pete’s view of Benjamin Button was motivated by anything but his view of the film. I think that Just Jared wants you to get that from the blog, but that doesn’t seem to the be blog’s intent. It’s just another attempt to keep the Jolie/Aniston thing alive since it seems to drive many posts on this site.

Actually it did better than they thought it would. The were only projecting arouns 22 million as I recall.

And how do you know what he has given his opinion on that hasn’t been reported? I’m thinking he was probably asked about this specific film for some reason. It isn’t clear what circumstances these statements were made under, but I highly doubt it was to get his view on all the award contenders.

I don’t really care what Jared was trying to do when I read this my question is why this movie? Where is his personal review of other movies? It is one thing to talk about it among friends but if you are actually going to put it on a blog (which he did) then why this movie? Did he not see any other movies? Where is his review of them. But hey that is just my opinion and how I see it. That’s it for me I won’t waste anymore time on what Pete Wentz thinks about anything. This is the guy that said his wife’s breast milk tasted sour.
You people are really naive if you believe this moron didn’t write about Brad on purpose. Of course he did. He’s not stupid. I like his response. Not everybody gets orgasmic over the Pitt, which means there is some sanity in this world. Not that I have anything against Pitt, it’s just the hype that gets bent way the hell out of shape. I haven’t seen the film but probably will sometime, if not at the movies, then on HBO. I’m not in a hurry.

Still doesn’t take away from the fact he posted this knows Perez and Jared would put it up on their blogs and link it. It’s the cheese and everyone else is the mouse. And people are naive not to think Jared put this up because it mentions Pitt. Jared has a major love/hate problem with his site with Jolie-Pitt fans and the Aniston fanatics that hate them. The JP’s haven’t been photographed in weeks, I’m sure those old JP threads are up into the THOUSANDS.
If Mayer was still allowed to blog you know full well he’d be talking about Brad too and his love and disappointment over CCOBB. lol.

Yep Wentz has been on the Jolie Pitt theme for a while. He and JM must talk about them alot. However I don’t read this as a negative toward Brad. It’s more a negative toward the script. But Wentz needs to stop trying to get attention by speaking about B&A.

And since everybody will continue to buy into it and go apeshit about it, on both sides, instead of keeping a reasonbly cool head and not giving it the time of day, it’ll continue until the end of time because they’re sheep. I say stop being sheep and buying into this crap and allowing yourselves to be baited with every friggin’ thing out there. And guess what? It’ll eventually stop.
It’s not negative towards Brad. He just wasn’t in love with his movie. Who cares? The point is, he’s been riding everything Brad and Jolie for some time now. I think this little twerp actually believes he and Ashley are Brad and Angelina’s equal. OMG. LMAO
