OlderMariska Hargitay Suffers Collapsed Lung
Law & Order star Mariska Hargitay has suffered a partially collapsed lung, according to her rep on Monday.
The rep confirmed, “Mariska Hargitay has been sidelined with a pneumothorax (a partially collapsed lung) [but] will appear in all episodes for the rest of the season of Law & Order: SVU.”
According to TMZ, the injury was the result of a skiing accident in the Hamptons around New Year’s Eve.
Hargitay, 44, was nominated for a Golden Globe this year for best actress in a TV drama, but lost to Anna Paquin in True Blood.

I had a pneumothorax last year…It happened just like that, for no reason. I spent 3 days at the hopital and was well after that. No big deal but definitively a scary thing (you have only one pulmon working and you think you’re having an heart attack or something like that !)

It feels like someone snapped a big rubberband inside. Can’t say it hurt, but breathing got weird and a bit scary. It really is more common in tall younger males, and I’m a female. Don’t really know the reasons for it. I was able to work the next day, and did not need hospital stay. Again it is a weird aliment.

I think she is easily one of the most beautiful women on TV, Can’t stop watching SVU just for her, I was thoroughly disappointed when i heard she married kinda left me standing here in the cold Mariska!! but ah well!! hop she recovers well and gets back to some more of those racy episodes where shes locked up in an all womens prison showing off those bra and panties!!!
