President-elect Barack Obama spoke at the celebration and addressed the crowd, saying “Welcome to this celebration of American renewal. In the course of our history, only a handful of generations have been asked to confront challenges as serious as the ones we face right now. …Ans sounded even BETTER!

Obama choose Beyonce to sing for him. And you just gave a perfect description of yourself. Beyonce on the other hand is one of the most successful human beings alive today more than can be said of people like you. This is why she is asked to sing for Barak Obama and Tina Turner. Yeah, Tina Turner asked Beyonce to sing for her. She didn’t ask Aretha, Diana, Mariah, Whitney, Dionne or anyone else. She asked Beyonce. Deal with reality that you are a loser and stop taking cheap shots at people you are not worthy of mentioning.

ugly outfit, overrated singer.

HE SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talent! that’s all you can say about Beyonce, talent!!

They all did a wonderful job my favorite was when John Legend did his song with the other artist..

I am disappointed that Beyonce was chosen to sing for Barack and Michelle’s first dance at the ball tonight. ALICIA KEYS would have been are far better choice, not to mention a lot classier.

Although Beyonce is quite talented for her age, her attire was extremely inappropriate for the occasion. The committe should have chosen artists with more depth and range like Patti Labelle, Tina Turner, Nancy Wilson, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston, Diane Reeves, Liz Wright, Kathleen Battle, Etta James and etc…

First of all Obama chose Beyonce. Beyonce is a favorite of his as well as his wife and daughters.

Secondly….sure let a up and down crack addict like whitney sing at a momentus occasion like this.

Thirdly Patti Labelle is amazing but at this day and age Beyonce is the crowd pleaser
Fourth Jennifer Hudson is so overrated. I think people are confusing power with actual voice control. Jennifer screams her notes right out. Obvious non-use of vocal ability and missing technical range. Get your facts straight people are giving Jennifer so much praise because of her role in dream Girls. I agress she was good but I give credit to Beyonce for her role in dream girls.

Jennifer’s role – all it required was for her to scream her notes and pretty much stay the same for the entire movie with no progression in character.

Beyonce’s role -She had to play a quiet shy character and then develop in to a in independent superstar working her character on so many differnt levels. Lets not forget the Producers of the movie were telling Beyonce to not be powerful and to hold herself back in vocal capabilty to stay in character.

“Quite talented for her age” Excuse me she is more than just talented she is a beautiful and powerful independent business woman. Her skill set is all her own and she deserves her place (which she worked so hard for) among the great entertainers of the past and present.

I agree with those who thought that Beyonce’s performance was pretty flat.

Beyonce doesn’t have the vocal chops to elevate this song to soaring heights that this type of event demanded. All she did was curl her voice into annoying melismas to hide the fact that she can’t hold or sustain her high notes. She wrecked the beautiful melody of the song by doing so.

And that final belt was so badly FLAT. I don’t know what people are raving about. That should have been a sustained and powerful high belt so the finale would have more impact. Instead, she choked on her belt and went for the high note with her falsetto. Boring.

She looked great though, I’ll give her that.

Power packed performance! Thats what beyonce is made of! Haters need to get a life! Give HER A BREAK! Losers.
