Angelina Jolie's Backwards Dress Explained

Angelina Jolie's Backwards Dress Explained

Angelina Jolie wore her cornflower blue Max Azria gown backward at Sunday’s SAG Awards in Los Angeles.

Her stylist Jen Rade tells Us Weekly that Angie decidedly wore the dress from back-to-front to make it “more blouson” (a dress with a fitted waistband over which material blouses).

The way Angie wore her dress — from the Spring 2009 collection — showed off her back tattoos more. She finished off her look with Tiffany & Co. jewels and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Who wore Max Azria best — ANGELINA JOLIE or THE RUNWAY?

JLo would have worn it open at the front and slit down to her navel like that transparent blue-green dress she wore to the grammys a few years back. You remember that one.

As she is always stating very clearly she’s a Mom …that changes one’s outlook at least it does for a mature woman satisfied with her man and home-life. There is no reason for a woman to try to elicit sexy comments based on peacock dressing unless she is insecure, needs constant confirmation she is still attractive and/or looking to attract a mate.

ITA. She’s going for classy and elegant rather than flashy. Works for her.

Gisele Doesn’t Have Most Sought-After Body Anymore
Gisele Bundchen’s body is nothing short of bangin’. However, the sexy supermodel didn’t quite earn the top spot on the 12th Annual “Famed Hottest Looks,” list compiled by Beverly Hills plastic surgeons and co-directors of The Beverly Hills Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Richard W. Fleming, M.D. and Toby G. Mayer, M.D.

According to the majority of surgery seekers, Jennifer Aniston has the most desired female figure, followed by Gisele Bundchen and Jessica Biel

lol just another example of how many people know X face(nose, cheek) and body (lipo, breast lift) came from an MD.

I am sure if X had her way she make all her old pics go away. LOL not going to happen.

So?……. I think Jen has a nice figure. So.. But a body is not all there is. She once said .. “If people are talking about my hair.. What am I doing wrong?” well now they are talking about…

    age
    body
    hair

Never nothing about talent and career success. She is going to be 40. That is not old. But at that age most actresses have more in their lives to celebrate then the fact that people think they have a great body. I wonder if that is what she wanted her legacy to be.. I strongly doubt it.. But her fans seem to think this is news for great celebration.. Ok.. I don’t get it. Tomorrow, next wee, next month, next year.. it will be someone new.

  • Iloveuangie

Oh Angie, I know that you were so busy with your beautiful babies and your hunka-hunka man that you accidently put that dress on backwards. You still look like a Goddess with your God by your side……….if only you were mine.

  • Michelle

Angelina actually pulled it off better than the runway.

    *****************************************************************************************

    And your point is what?

That “most desired female figure” can’t seem to help her get or keep a man, can it?

Don’t think Brad is missing it. He saw it night after night for five years and still ran off with Angelina the first chance he got.

Bottom line: a body without a brain, a heart and a soul attached is nothing but a body. Might as well scréw a blow-up doll.

Never nothing about talent and career success. She is going to be 40. That is not old.
    ********************************************************************************************

It’s old for an actress. There are very, very few actresses in Hollywood with active careers after 40, unless they can play a wide variety of roles. Aniston is too old to be playing Rachel Greene any more, and she doesn’t know how to do anything else. Meryl Streep she ain’t.

  • lala

    obvoiusly, the model!

  • an oldie

LOL at that “most desirable figure”. It’s because average women see it as more attainable with plastic surgery. No plstic surgeries in the world is going to give you a body like Gisele’s (long slender limbs). Maniston is short, and has short legs. Nothing to brag about.

  • an oldie

Oh, and I forgot to quote Maniston regarding her hot body figured on the cover of GQ: “Photoshopped”. Hahahaha. PHOTOSHOPPED, folks.

    2. a hot papa for fugly ( peeboy isn’t exactly hunky HOT )

LOL. Most importantly – her father isn’t around. Jelena Dokic has been the talk of the Aussie Open because of her comeback after 3 years of dealing with her nutty daddy. Yuri Sharapov is just as crazy. I see Sharapova as another Jennifer Capriati – that shoulder injury is nearly 2 years old…and it’ll never quite be right enough for her to play competitive tennis at that level. Or so I keep hoping…

No. Benjamin Button is out. So is Marely and Me though. Marely and Me doubled Brad’s “forest Gump Part Two”
    ****************************************************************************************

Um, honey… before you go shooting off your yap to no purpose, you might want to check the stats first.

As of 1/28/09 (today), CCOBB is #6 at the box office and the mutt movie is #17.

Total gross for the mutt movie so far is $155 million. That is nowhere near “double” the total gross for CCOBB which is $135 million and counting. The kicker is that CCOBB is holding steady in the US and rising in the charts overseas, while the mutt movie is going down, down, down. It’s already been dropped from 1,000 theaters in the US. So look for CCOBB to pull even with the mutt movie over the next three or four weeks, if it doesn’t overtake it by then.

    Mayer makes ‘motivational’ Pitt dig
    Wednesday, January 28 2009, 15:12 GMT

    By David Balls, Entertainment Reporter

    Rex Features
John Mayer has made a dig at Brad Pitt’s ‘motivational lectures’ in a new video blog.

The musician poked fun at on-off girlfriend Jennifer Aniston’s ex-husband in spoof video Power Tape 9: Potentializing Your Dreams.

“Your a man of strength, charisma, girth, honour, girth… and influence,” he told himself.

‘You know like that guy in the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Brat, Benjamin Brat, the older you get, the younger you get and right before you die a little tiny man baby you’re gonna discover the ability to time travel into volcanoes.

“I never saw the film, I’m just guestimating that that’s how it ends.”

Mayer will reportedly propose to Aniston on her 40th birthday next month.

Angelina of course. She looks so beautiful like a goddess.

Angelina looks better. I like the look of the dress better how She wore. The other way looks horrible on flat chested woman like the model since it emphasizes the breast .

  • an oldie

Why are Maniston and her clique always talking about Brad and Angelina? Maniston and all the people riding her coattail are so low class. Brad made the mistake to marry beneath him, that’s why he now has to deal with those low class people.

LOL, it’s just that the american woman has low standards ! lol. notice it is the’majority of surgery seekers’…hence, females who probably are like Maniston : real chubby average looking women who have to work their a** off to look decent. !
    -
Men, on the otherhand know the real deal : a bootey with a nasty face and soul doesn’t do the trick ! It’s like any hooker or p*rn star with a banging body out there ! So better hit that bootey and quit it as soon as possible….ooops…it reminds me of the aging sl*t dating history, you know, that pathetic cougar who is gonna turn 40 soon and has to pay for escort boys…..

If Katie Holmes wore that dress the way Angelina has, most people would say it was frumpy and made her look old. I feel the same way with Angelina wearing it. It’s not a stunning dress.

  • Not impressed by JA

It’s not a beautiful dress but i guess that only a beautiful ethearal woman as Angie could have made that so, so dress looks ok and not ugly. But the dress is definitely not beautiful.

I still can’t believe that people are laughing because Brad and Angie didn’t win an award so far for Benjamin Button and Changeling. I mean, hellooo??!
How many actors got tons of nominations each year and were favorites but still went home empty handed by the end of the day? It’s not like their performance was bad (or they wouldn’t have gotten nominated at all!) And you know, getting a nomination is a huge honor by itself already.
And it’s like Angie said.. awards aren’t everything to them. I mean, sure it’d be nice to win.. but if they don’t? Well, they can still go home together and be with their beautiful kids. I’m pretty sure that matters most to them.. not those awards.

    God bless the Jolie-Pitts! <3

    OFF TOPIC:

On Obama’s stimulus package – I do have concerns. Read an article in IHT by David Brooks who argued that the stimulus package was not as well thought through as it should be. If his analysis is true, I hope the brains like Lawrence Sumners and Paul Volcker and Timothy Geithner and others will take them on board.

    -

When I think of the path that Obama and his economic advisors are walking I think of a watershed path. The question is which side of the drop will be worse in the short to medium term and can the worst case be averted on time.

    -
The way I see it, Obama and his team think that a stimulus package is required to prevent a situation of the great depression in the 1930s with unemployment reaching 25% of the work force occurrsing, not to mention the situation of 0 to negative growth of Japan in the last 18 years occurring in the US. If something is not done, confidence which has been falling will utterly collapse. If what occurred in Japan in the last 18 years happens in the US or if the US goes through 25% unemployment, I think social unrest will occur. Americans have a very different society to the Japanese. Once there is social unrest, it’s difficult to tell how things will end.

    -
The problem is, the budget deficit is already large thanks to Bush’s 2 wars and tax cuts. The stimulus package will aggravate the budget deficit even further. The problems I wrote about a few months ago, inflation, rising interest rates, fears of default of the US paper, I don’t believe they have gone away.

    -
For now, inflation is less of a worry then deflation however so that is a relief. But interest rates can still rise if trust in the US economy and trust in the US governments ability to repay its paper falls.

    -
This is one reason why I’m really really glad that Paul Volcker is such an important member of Obama’s economic team. Here is a man who has lived through and TAMED inflation in the 1970s. If inflation rises due to this stimulus package, Paul Volcker will have experienced this before and economists have a lot of experience in bringing down inflation. But the second scenario, rising interest rates due to lack of confidence in the US paper, a re-rating of risk much as what has happened in Spain recently, I don’t know who knows how to deal with it.

    -
But I really believe, they walk the narrow path. I think most educated people recognise the risk. I read paper put out by Obama’s economist on the stimulus package and know that they did raise the risks.

    -
I’m sure I’m not risking hyperbole, when I say, the world hopes the Obama administration succeeds and stabilizes the US economy. I support his actions, not because he is Obama but because I think the risks of unemployment and social unrest are far worse right now than future inflation and possible rising interest rates due to re-rating of risk of US paper.
