OlderKelly Rowland & Mathew Knowles Split
Kelly Rowland and her manager, Mathew Knowles, are going their separate ways.
Knowles says in a statement: “After a very positive meeting between Kelly Rowland and myself, we have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship. My company, Music World, will continue to manage Destiny’s Child as a group. As an artist Kelly has incredible talent and I only wish her the best. We will always be family first and foremost and as a dad I can only have love for Kelly.”
Kelly also released a statement, saying, “Mathew Knowles has been a positive influence in my career. I have had great success under his guidance–both as a member of Destiny’s Child and with my solo projects. Although we have decided to part ways professionally, the Knowles family and the entire Music World Entertainment team will always be my family.”
Knowles still manages the careers of his daughters, Beyonce and Solange.

Black singers come from a tradition of black spiritual music and gospel that really puts emphasis on voice so maybe. But I think people can be taught how to song too. The thing is people like Billie Holiday, Aretha, Mahalia Jackson got no singing lessons. Just came from the gut.

Anyway, good for her. She was in a lose/lose situation with him as her manager. Of course he is going to have his own daughter’s best interest before hers. I’m surprised she hung in there that long.

I think he ran what chances she had into the ground. I heard something a while ago that he kept pushing back the release of her most current cd. She should’ve been with a different manager for years now.

I am going to put it like this Mathew Knowles has only promoting Beyounce because Solange never did well and Kelly never had a chance under his management. Just like when Kelly was suppose to be on the cover of essence for her new ablum and Beyounce wanted to be to it on the cover that month. Kelly is a pretty good singer. but that’s not a requirement these days.
( see Solange) She doesn’t have the stage presence that B. has. That being said, ppl forget how much better an actress she is. Remember the D.L. Hugley show? I think she should concentrate on that. But yes she should have had another mangr. years ago. Like the other girls wanted when they kicked them out of Destiney’s child. Michelle needs to jump that train too if she hasn’t already. I’ll bet once she’s being handled by someone else she’ll find out just how many opportunities came her way and was either pushed aside or something in Beyonce’s favor had to be added. I like Beyonce for the most part, but it doesn’t take away from her to have the other ladies doing well. Hell, it’ll help when she needs to do a reunion tour. and she WILL need to.
