    Mia Says:

And before anyone tries to say she didn’t have a choice and that the costume department is responsible you should understand that big movie stars have contracts that protects their reputation.

Nothing that could be damaging to their reputation and career could be forced upon them in the making of a film, and that would include wearing fur. If she wears fur it is because she AGREED to wearing fur.

    jessie Says:

she’s a mean old hag for wearing a fur coat! animals that are skinned alive make her look UGLY. and mia is right. big actors like her have contracts that state that they don’t have to do things that would damage their image or carrers.

if you fools think she had no say in this think again.

  4. 54
    taco Says:

Mia, you are correct. If actors believe in a cause – like the fur issue – they work that into their contracts. The same thing is done with nude scenes. If producers want certain actors in their movies, they will respect their clauses in the contracts. If not, they get another actor. Obviously, Kidman doesn’t have an issue with the slaughter of animals.

    jessie Says:

no one cares about fur? you mean no one cares about the torture of animals in the name of vanity? speak for yourself.

many people do care. it’s some nicole kidman fans who don’t care, apparently. maybe they’re just as cold and mean as she is.

“8 1/2″ is one of cinema’s greatest films. This film should be fantastic.

I haven’t even heard of a cast this good in decades.

    Fellini was the best!

    hj fan Says:

Agree with you Milla (#59). Plus, it was a masterpiece, no matter what some people say, and the most unfairly judged film in cinema history (How ridiculous that the Academy snubbed it even in the techical categories like cinematography, sound, visual effects and art direction!!!)

  14. 64
    Critics Says:

Hated Star Wars, Grease, E.T. Raiders of the Lost Ark too.

They attacked all savagely. More flops! LMAO

    Puhhleasse Says:

I saw NINE on Broadway with Antonio Bandaas.

    Claudia wore fur. THE END.

Great play. Can’t wait for the film

  16. 66
    Mia Says:

Nicole Kidman does not HAVE to wear real fur in ANY film if she does not want to wear real fur. She is protected in her contract like every other major star against doing things that may cause harm to her image and career.

She obviously does NOT care enough about the animal abuse and torture involved in making a fur such as the one she is wearing, since she did not say no.

There were a lot of rumors already that she never did like animals. It seems those rumors were true. She totally ignores the torture involved in this vanity industry. Her choice to wear fur and to promote furs is revolting.

People DO care about the choices movie stars make TODAY when everyone is informed AND educated on this very serious matter.

Nicole Kidman in this film is a walking commercial for the fur industry and she should be seen as such. Shame on her.

  17. 67
    Mia Says:

    THE FACTS…….

Animals are tortured and suffer tremendously before they die, and are often even skinned alive in order to avoid “imperfections” in the finished fur coat.

The fur Kidman is wearing is VERY, VERY expensive, and it is very likely that animals were skinned alive, suffering unimaginably before dying.

Regardless of how you choose to use such a product it always will be a great inhumanity to support this in any way, shape or form.

No fancy rhetoric will change this…ever.

  18. 68
    FACTS versus MIA Says:

You lost all credibility when you posted what a complete stranger, Kidman, cares about, thinks about, feels, believes, etc.

As for the contracted obligations of any actress on any film., you again are fabricating nonsense. You’ve never seen a confidential movie contract in your life.

FACT: Zeta-Jones was originally slated to play Claudia, but insisted the part be changed. She was fired.

Obviously you’re simply making up things in order to rant.

  19. 69
    A man's view Says:

No one really knows if the fur is real or fake.

I personally could care less. As for the loudmouth Mia and her many names. I couldn’t give a flip how many rodents are killed to make a coat.

Kidman looks delicious. The movie looks like a hit.

  20. 70
    Question Says:

If Mia is skinned alive will she shut-up?

  21. 71
    Cutiemcfreckles Says:

rebecca miller is one lucky woman!

  22. 72
    daisy Says:

You can not tell if a fur is real or fake.

  23. 73
    realitycheck Says:

Mia is right. Nicole does have a choice. Her choice is to wear fur and to smoke. No way around that one, bi*ch.

  24. 74
    Sam Says:

Yet another future BOMB, as in MEGA FLOP, for animal hater and chain-smoker Nic Kidman.

  25. 75
    It's pimpin' as usual Says:

Mia @ 01/31/2009 at 7:40 pm AND Taco:

Excuse me, but this is a period piece and the fur appears to be vintage. Furthermore, it is possible she didn’t have anything written into her contract because, gosh, she just didn’t think about it. HOWEVER, the actor generally has very little say about costumes. I didn’t see these comments on the Penelope Cruz threads where she has a fur on her shoulders.
I am as against fur as anyone, but this fur appears to be a vintage piece and not a new piece of dead animal.

And furthermore, have you ever seen her in “REAL” life in a fur? I cannot recall any time she has worn fur in real life. If so, send a link wiht your comment.
