Jennifer Hudson Sings the Super Bowl

Jennifer Hudson and Faith Hill bring their A-game as they perform at Super Bowl XLIII between the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Sunday (February 1).

Jennifer, 27, sang the U.S. National Anthem and Faith, 41, sang “America the Beautiful” during the pre-game show. This was the first public appearance for the Oscar winner since the murders of her mother (Darnell Donerson), brother (Jason Hudson) and nephew (Julian King).

Jennifer did a great job! She didn’t miss anything high notes! Amazingly wonderful! Beautiful and so powerful at the same time.

Yeah, my eyes were watering too.
I had to hid my tears.

God bless you Jen, you were perfect tonight. It will take a long time to even begin to process the tragedy. We are rooting for you to have an amazing life despite the huge loss you have suffered. With God everything is possible. You were amazing tonight.

J Hud was phenomenal, her voiceis breathtaking. They both did a great job but Jennifer was just WOW!

she sounded amazing!! better than faith hill

that was lip sinching. for sure she lip synched.

associated press is saying she pip synched but some people saying she did not.. dunno. sounds pre-recorded to me.

wow. jennifer sounded absolutely amazing. i’m so proud of her for coming out strong having gone through an unimaginable tragedy. she has the voice of an angel and most definitely touched the hearts of everyone who listened to her tonight.

wow girlfriend can SAAAANG!

That is a hard song to sing, and she nailed it.

I’m watched the Super Bowl to see Jennifer Hudson and I was not disappointed. The music was pre-recorded but Jennifer sang live. Her voice has gotten better since her A.I. days.

These performances are usually pre-recorded. So, they are lip synching. So is Yo Yo Ma & company, Aretha Franklin on election day.
Too big an occasion to go wrong.

i didnt like the way she ended it i like when there is a pause at the end between home of the and then brave….

i dont think it was pre-recored

She was amazing!

Who cares if it was lip synched or not…she has an amazing voice!

“Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave / o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?” You bet, baby!

There is NOOO excuse for loosing anymore, folks!!

the rendition was a little slow for my taste, but beautiful voice and good for her after all she’s been through

JEN I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. YOU USED YOUR VOICE TO MAKE YOUR MAMA PROUD

SHE WAS SO AMAZING.
i thought wayy better than Faith Hill.
but.. it might’ve just been me but it looked like she was lip-syncing.

Jennifer was the best thing about this weekend, you know, besides the game!

May GOD bless and keep you safe Jennifer!

They were both great.

she should have sang at the inauguration. oh well.

Jennifer did AMAZING.
I wanted to cry.
GREATTTTTTTTTTT VOICE and she looked SO pretty!

Faith Hill is a MILF

Baby girl sang her heart out! Her mama would be so proud. I know I am proud of you. Someday you will be with your loved ones, until then, keep the faith Honey. I am praying for you. Jesus loves you and so do I.

It was pre-recorded. It’s not hard t notice that.

Jennifer Hudson is such a strong woman. I couldn’t do it. Her mom, brother and nephew would be so proud. God Bless.

beautiful, just beautiful.
my eyes started to water.
that girl has been through so much but can still stand there and belt out the anthem like a pro.
i admire her so much.

Love it. Jennifer Hudson was amazing.

She was fantastic. One of the best voices of our day. She’s the new Aretha Franklin. God Bless you Jennifer. We love you.

Jennifer Hudson’s rendition of our national anthem was the absolute worst I have ever heard. Even worse than Aretha Franklin’s My Country ‘Tis Of Thee and that sucked horribly.

Why is it performers can’t just sing the song the way it was intended and not put their worthless BS twist on it? You didn’t see Bruce Springsteen butchering any songs the way she did.

Too bad Faith wore so much make up especially in the eye area.

That was beautiful! Amazing job Jennifer.

Faith is FINALLY showing her age! Jennifer did an amazing job with the National Anthem!

damn what happened to her neck!?

TWPUMPKIN @ 02/02/2009 at 7:51 pm

Love faith Hill but her neck looked really old.

She looked flawless at the Super Bowl!

Umm so I heard the whole thing was recorded.
