Kanye West: Devastated By Rihanna's Situation

Kanye West: Devastated By Rihanna's Situation

During his morning KIIS FM show, Kanye West spoke to Ryan Seacret about the altercation between Rihanna and Chris Brown. Here’s what the 31-year-old singer had to say:

“I saw them at Clive’s [the night before]. I know Rihanna a bit better because I went on tour with her and we really vibed out on a lot of creative ideas. With the touring, I gave all these reference of Graces Jones and Jean Paul-Goude. Back in the 80′s when pop stars just took it to a whole ‘nother level. I really feel that Rihannais so important to our culture and pop music. I feel like she is the most important artist in music and has the most potential. Her taste level at her age and the songs she does and her style and her performance and her voice.

“She has the potential to be the biggest artist of all time. In that sense, I feel like that’s my baby sis and I would do anything and everything not help her in any situation. I don’t want to speak too much on it but I was completely devastated by the concept of what I heard to the point that I Was completely devastated during my “American Boy” performance [with Estelle during the Grammys].

“It’s so devastating. As a person, I don’t care how famous she is or if she just worked at McDonald’s, that should never happen. It should never come to that place.”

    Halo Says:

Kanye West really spoke the truth on that one. I don’t think a woman deserves to be beaten. If in any occurence, a domestic issue arises and a female has a weapon – then something needs to be done but I prefer the male call the cops or leave the situation immediately. Other than that, I don’t think a woman deserves to be beaten because of a minor argument. Whatever they were arguing about was obviously irrelevant because now…these past couple of days – their images have been tarnished.

I have heard people call him a woman beater and her a jealous diva since this incident happened. I think people should just wait on the truth and stop speculating because they are the ones that truly know what happened.

    Jayne Says:

I am devastated by this whole incident as I love Rihanna very much and like Chris only because he was associated with Rihanna (I have never followed too much about him).

I wish them both God speed from this situation and hope they can pick up the pieces and move on separately in their careers………..but I must add I am pretty pissed at Chris because causing bodily harm on a female is a big no no but perhaps he is not mature enough to think before he acts and it is a shame.

I hope Rihanna heals well and they both learn from their mistakes they are yet young.

Devastating?? Get over it, she has a couple of bruises. My dad lost his LIFE a month ago today from a work accident that could have been prevented. That is Devastating.

It is starting to come to light that ole girl started all this and the only way he could stop it was to defend his self.

We’ll see in the coming future but I dont really believe this young man would throw his career away over her.

Evidence speaks louder than words, after they examine the car and both bodies, people will see that besides not having any talent she also dont have a leg to stand on. Stop blaming Chris cause it has always takent two to tangle and we have already been hearing that Rihanna had a bad temper.. It’s been mentioned on here before also.

Even though them two wrongs dont make it right, dont just put the blame on him…

    dump him, girl! Says:

Ri needs to dump this dude and never look back. Hitting a woman is never okay, even if she’s bitc*ing or physically attacking. A man can and should walk away from that, and if his excuse is that she’s always screaming at him, well, he should end such a toxic relationship, just dump her, but never, ever be violent. DUDES WHO HIT ARE LOSERS!!!

    Mmmm Says:

    i luv kanye
god bless him & poor Riri!

    that's hideous Says:

i’ve never cared for rihanna’s music but i do feel bad for her

    Naima Says:

This is a really sad situation for anyone but being in the public eye to such a degree that these two are and being as young as they are, it is going to be a long hard road to recovery.

STELLA – I am very sorry for your loss, I wish you and your family the best…But I also wanted to point out to you that this is indeed a very sad situation, it just so happens that these two are famous. All Kanye is doing is expressing his thoughts about someone he knows and cares about, it could have been his sister or mother. And like you, ironically Kanye lost a parent suddenly in a situation that could have been prevented as you stated, so if anyone understands how you might feel, its Kanye. Its better to focus on your similarities rather than your differences, maybe that will be a help to you in dealing with your loss.

    get a clue #10 Says:

OMG, #10, are you serious???! Rihanna has bites and bruises. This man attacked her and is a danger to others. I don’t give a rat’s ass who started it or whether the girl is a ragging nagging hag, there is never an excuse for violence, period.

  23. 23
    zzzz Says:

    My thoughts exactly, Naima.

  24. 24
    bonnie Says:

Kanye’s a damn sight nicer than jared- supporting Brown and referring to his attacking his girlfriend as a ‘legal problem’.

  25. 25
    tr Says:

    that’s soooo sad !

i don’t care who started the fight !

his excuse is that she’s always screaming at him, well that’s not an excuse a man should never be violent.
