Matt Damon Makes a Difference

Matt Damon takes a break from filming and sports a Springbok tracksuit for his new movie Human Factor in Cape Town, South Africa. The movie, expected to hit theaters in December, looks at Nelson Mandela‘s attempts to unify South Africa after apartheid, focusing on the Springboks’ 1995 Rugby World Cup triumph. The film also stars Morgan Freeman as Mandela, and is being directed by Clint Eastwood.

Earlier this week, the Bourne Identity star donned a helmet and hopped on a bicycle to take part in the annual Cape Argus Cycle Tour. Damon, 38, cycled along side his brother Kyle and Springbok hero Francois Pienaar during the March 8,2009 race. Proceeds of the race were donated to the Make a Difference (MAD) charity.

Just to clarify – Damon didn’t actually pedal a bicycle – he just sat his lazy butt on the back of a tandem bike while his brother pedaled. No wonder he’s such a fat pig. Ridiculous hair plugs and bad dye job, too. Another crappy movie that no one will see.

Just drove past the arrows to the movie set. Looks like they’re shooting a few blocks from my office today. Cape Town’s got Matt Damon fever, very funny! I take my hat off to him for cycling the Argus. It was the worst cycling weather in the history of the race. 109 km in hurricane force winds! I almost got blown off my feet.

I am glad to see that someone is actually paying attention to one of the most beautiful cities in the world. However, I would like to bring to your (JJ) attention, that AFRICA is a continent and not a country. We Africans dont go around saying: There is Matt Damon in North America. I really love your site and visit it on a daily basis and this is the first time I have been slight cheesed. There are many famous South Africans: Charlize Theron, Nelson Mandela, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Embeth Davids, Mark Shuttleworth, JRR Tolkien. So, please, would you get it right, even if it is just a little. Oh, and Cape Town loves JJ.

I can assure you with the gale force winds we experienced on Sunday – Matt Damon cycled all the way – do you have any idea how difficult it is to cycle a tandom if your partner doesn’t pedal…. Stop being such a hater.
This movie has a great story line – and it is being directed by one of the best in the business so I am sure we will be in for a treat.

And # 15 most American’s don’t even know that SA is in Africa or where Africa is so if they get it remotely right we should be thankful!

The ignorance of Americans astounds me.. “Nelson Mandela’s attempts to unify Africa after apartheid”??? Africa didnt have apartheid, South Africa had apartheid. One is a continent and the other is a country – thats a huge difference.

Just to give you guys an idea of how much fun we South Africans are having with the stars in town. Follow the link to listen to Matt Damon being pranked/punked on one of our radio stations. He was such a good sport about it. Very funny.

Does Matt Damon realize what Nelson Mandela’s Marxists have done to South Africa, a former thriving Western country is now the most violent place on the earth? Damon should do a movie highlighting the systemic murder of the Afrikanners by the ANC.
