Beyonce Covers 'Vogue' April 2009

Style icon Beyonce graces the April 2009 cover of Vogue.

The mag’s headline boasts, “Real woman have curves — Beyonce at her best.”

So tell me this: If you don’t have curves, does that not make you a real woman?

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the Filipino boys dancing to Beyonce‘s “Single Ladies.” It’s a riot!

This spring, Beyonce will kick off a massive concert tour, premiering live performances of songs from her latest album I Am… Sasha Fierce.

A woman worst enemy is another woman…..we sure like to put down each other.

There is no IDEAL shape. A REAL woman is a woman who takes good care of herself in every sense and would be able to look in the mirror and be happy at her own reflection.

Queen Beyonce is here to stay and I’m happy with that. She has proven that she is a true star.

I LOVE BEYONCE FOR EVER

Jon Rashawn @ 03/15/2009 at 5:28 pm

yessss bee! You betta weeerk! You the best because Jonathan Rashawn said so…

she is everywhere i got sick of her

by saying real women have curves shes obviously just putting out a good message, if you are thin you don’t get so much stick i suppose in everyday ‘civilian’ life but if you are fat more people would take the mic. there is nothing wrong with being fat or thin just be healthy, unhealthy people are unattractive ie. too big or anorexic…., you should just be the shape your body is ment for, thats why you look your best when you are yourself, its the same with people who arnt them selves in personality, everyone likes you better when you are being yourself, people fancy you more when you are how your body is intended……

B looks amazing, as iff she cares what haters think, her fans love her and that’s all that counts! What a talent:)

One thing, it’s pretty ironic how it says “Real women have curves”, yet in the top left hand corner it says “Nip/Tuck Desinging the pefect body” Wtf? haha!

Love you B!

y’all wether you like it or not..the issue is going to come out….but i think they dont mean slim women are not women i guess its targeting the people hu are trying to get skinny in harmful ways..and i think all us women are beautiful, fat , slim wataeva love yourselves no matter what body type…im not curvy nor slim…but i love it…

She’s not really the Vogue-type..it just looks off.

No Beyonce is not ugly, and I think some of the comments are hateful. I will take issue with a couple of things that Vogue did that is considered hypocritical. I’m tired of talking about “real women” when curvy women of color are featured. You will never see Heidi Klum on a cover that discusses real women, and body issues. Vogue would never feature a white model on a cover where in a way the model is being “brought down” by talking about “realness” something that is a strange bedfellow for Vogue. Why can’t the black model just exist as an ideal just like the white model does? This comment is simply an opinion. Beyonce is no more over rated than many of these so called curvy white models. When Beyonce gains weight, she’s fat, but when Jessica Simpson’s feelings are hurt we have to coddle her.

I will put up with Beyonce, but not Tyra Banks. Tyra unlike Beyonce has a show dedicated to telling women to lose weight. Whenever she gets an intelligent black woman on America’s Next Top Model, she never lasts.

Beyonce is a very beautiful woman. Although i disagree with the saying “real women have curves”. Real women are happy with the body they have. Nobody can say that skinny people are fakes or that heavier people are less attractive.

Go Bey-Bey!!!
She has belonged on that cover for a loooong time!
Let the haters hate. REAL women don’t need to put each other down about what is and isn’t healthy on the internet.
Share some love for Queen B! or at least for each other!

I can’t wait for her to bring her tour to the US!
A friend told me to check out http://www.beyonce.com. They are selling some killer VIP tickets and packages with meet and greets, onstage tickets and a lot of other stuff.
You can’t buy them yet for North America, but I signed up for the mailing list and will definitely buy a package ASAP.
If you definitely want to see beyonce/sasha kill it on stage… keep your eyes on the site for awesome tix!

wow, people are really judgemental… and technically, real women do have curves, noone is curve-less… since you wanna analyze the headline that closely

Beyonce is telling women that they should be confident within their ownselves instead following the ideal version of “model thin” is best that has been an on-going idea. Beyonce is a natural Beautiful woman.

People, people. Everyone comes in different shapes and sizes. Can’t you appreciate that?

A little science. Beyonce is an endomorph. Demi Moore an mesomorph. Kate Moss an ectomorph.

Surely, none of you are saying that only one body type is feminine or acceptable? They are all beautiful and we should celebrate all body types. All this criticism and tunnel vision is what forces healthy meso- and endomorphic women to kill themselves to look like an ectomorph. Show some love.
