Justin Timberlake is a Kings of Leon Lover

Justin Timberlake opened up to EW about his latest goings-on. Check it:

On only producing tracks for other people, not his own: “Right now, I like the idea that things can just kind of pop up and if they feel right I can do them. Committing to my own sort of project, that’s like, ‘Okay, let me block out two years of my life and do it.’ I was heavily fulfilled with the last one and I always have this thing with myself that if I can’t sleep because I need to do it, then I’m gonna do it. But if I’m not losing sleep over it then…”

On what’s playing on his iPod: “I mean, I listen to everything. I’ve been going back and forth between Kings of Leon’s latest album and the Black Keys. I really love their Attack and Release. I thought that was a really great record. And of course Radiohead. It’s a constant. I enjoy In Rainbows in the morning. You throw it on in the iPod dock and get ready to leave the house and go on about your day. That album seems to put me in a pretty decent mood.” (JJ-recommended KoL songs: “Use Somebody” and “Sex On Fire.”)

Justin is currently executive producing a new MTV reality competition series called The Phone (premiering April 21).

As great as Sex on Fire and Use Somebody are, the new KOL has NOTHING on their 3 previous albums. NOTHING! Check out Because of the Times, Aha Shake Heartbreak and Youth and Young Manhood as well if you want to be taken seriously. All this recent KOL bandwagon jumping has been very irritating to true fans.

Yes, I’m a music snob :) And JT is so right – a dose of In Rainbows 1st thing in the morning is the BEST way to start your day!

Yawn, another celeb suddenly into KoL.
But he barely mentions them so why are they the title of the post? Never heard of the Black Keys Jared?

What is the world coming to? Mr JT recommending Kings of Leon?! I think all those who need to have them recommended by now is a plonker.

…and because of the times is their best album i’d say.

This new KOL album is trash, it’s like total pop. Use Somebody and Sex On Fire are the worst songs. If you like KOL go and listen to their album Youth and Young Manhood, it’s amazing. It will change your lifeee.

Haha – he’s a joke. He jumps on the KOL bandwagon 6 years too late and only references their latest album…I bet he has no clue what Youth and Young ManHood even is. He is hip to them now that they are a top 40 band. Fu*ckin’ joke…he wishes he was as cool as them. I’m sure they are just THRILLED to have JT as a fan!

Seriously teenyboppers, show some respect for The Black Keys. They are what we call musicians. Got it?

There’s something called google and you can type in the black keys and let your mind be blown.

Do yourself a favor and find out who The Black Keys are. Anyone that is independent-minded that doesn’t have to have MTV or the radio feed them what to listen to, knows the The Black Keys. Respect. Respect the artist.
