Happy Birthday, Robert Downey Jr.!

Robert Downey Jr. smokes a cigar before picking up some vitamins at Great Earth with his wife Susan on Friday (April 4) in Brentwood, Calif.

The comic-book superhero star later celebrated his 44th birthday at the luxurious Thompson Beverly Hills Hotel, according to E!’s Marc Malkin. Also in attendance: RDJ‘s Iron Man costar Gwyneth Paltrow (and husband Chris Martin) and Jake Gyllenhaal (with girlfriend Reese Witherspoon).

Jake and RDJ costarred in the 2007 crime thriller Zodiac and went on a hiking date with their sig others late last year.
