Drew Barrymore Covers Elle Magazine

Hollywood royalty Drew Barrymore is Elle magazine’s May 2009 cover girl and she dishes about her failed relationships, crossing over into new acting genres, and transforming herself inside and out for her much anticipated role as Little Edie in Grey Gardens. Here’s what the 34-year-old actress had to say:

On her breakup from boyfriend Fabrizio Moretti: “It’s hard to be with someone for five years and say, ‘This isn’t going to work. But it was a time in my life where I finally just said, I can’t live for anyone else anymore. I have to be on my own.’”

On the Hollywood career she would like to try: “I’m in my thirties now, and I really want to try all the things that I haven’t gotten to do yet, like directing, and doing a drama. I’ve produced and gotten to do a lot of optimistic love stories, and that was so where I was at for 10 years in my life. And now I feel like, Okay, now I know how to do that. I wanted to get scared again.”

On preparing for the role of Little Edie: “I did what I do when I have a big challenge lying in my path. I go to school. I shut the windows, the shades come down, the phone gets turned off, I don’t go out – I study.”

What is there not to love about Drew? She is genuine, ambitious, funny, a tad quirky and just loveable. I admire her for overcoming the many struggles to get her where she at today which is a strong, determined, and beautiful woman. You go girl!

Thats funny never going to talk out of the side of her mouth again.
I forgot she does that. Thats just Drew B. tho and at her age that might be tough to change.

I like Drew. Loved her in Riding In Cars With Boys. Going from age 15 to her 40s and she did it so well. Great storyline.

I can’t wait to see this new mov ie . I read about this story along time ago and always wondered who would play the roles of the two er hermits. Meryle Streep and Drew Barrymore…Purrrfect.

Go Drew you are a sweety!

Why are they asking about Fab. Heck Drew has had another boyfriend (commercial boy)broke up with him and dated around and then gone back to the commercial boy since she broke up with Fab.
