Rachel Weisz is ravishing in red in the May 2009 issue of BlackBook Magazine.
The stunning 39-year-old British actress has noticed that people are hungry to dig up the past, as if her parents’ failed marriage might somehow shed light on who she is now and the roles she chooses to inhabit.
“It’s very atavistic… is that the right word? That this happened or is like this because of that?” Weisz shares. “It’s such a hard thing to sum up. The best way to describe my parents and our family is… operatic. Everything played out in a very melodramatic way, as if we were the stars of a Tennessee Williams play, which is not actually that good for acting. It would be good for opera, but sadly, I can’t sing. If I had a million-dollar voice, I could nail opera, because I understand that emotional level of living. But with acting, you have to learn that it’s all about very quiet, internal moments. I think I was pretty crap at acting in the beginning because I was too operatic, and it’s taken me a while to learn how to tone that down.”

I like Rachel. I think she is very talented but I don’t get why people call her “stunning.” She is pretty but I don’t consider her stunning by a long shot.
Rachel’s One of the best actresses of our generation and one BEUTIFUL woman.
She is “stunning.” and a great actor as well.
I ran into Rachel while i was shopping in the village and she was very friendly and kind. You don’t get that from celebrities of her caliber but she was the real deal and very warm as well. She’s even more beautiful in person.
She’s with out a doubt the best actress working today and i can’t wait for “The Brothers Bloom.”
She looks amazing! She should hire this sytlist to dress her always.

I love her, she is so beautiful, smart and intelligent. I love all her movies, she makes the best choices.
I know she is past this but I really, really wish she would play Evie in The Mummy movies again :-( Rachel as Evie is one of my fave characters and that other chic (Monica?Marie?) just doesn’t cut it as Evie. Oh well, I do hope Rachel gets awards and credit for all of her other outstanding work.
