OlderJohnny Depp: VaJoLiRoJa What?
Johnny Depp is sailing the high seas again, but this time it’s not for another Pirates of the Caribbean film.
While the 45-year-old actor is shooting The Rum Diary in Puerto Rico, his partner, Vanessa Paradis, and their kids, Lily-Rose and Jack, are living on their yacht, VaJoLiRoJa — the boat’s name comes from combining the first few letters of each family member’s name.
“The entire family is living on the boat. It’s pretty funny because he leaves to film every day and they stay on the yacht — they barely ever leave!” an insider tells In Touch. “They must be so used to living anonymously, because they aren’t going to the set to visit or going out to restaurants or anything!”
His 156-foot yacht was built in Turkey in 2001.

If I had a 156-foot yacht, I would not leave it either. I assume it comes equiped with a crew, full staff, etc. Why leave ? Would love to travel around on one. I’m so jealous. lol

I think it is so funny how they never leave the yacht. Even though they have every luxury, I admire his family life. They seem very settled and relatively normal.

With all the paps pounding on kids I understand why these actors sometimes search for some peace. Depp is a great guy.
Johnny Depp is one celebrity who actually practices what he preaches. Says he doesn’t want the spotlight and stays out of it at almost any cost (when not working, obviously!). Good for him and his family. They deserve their privacy.

am i the only one who noticed the name seems like a fancy way of saying “the jolly roger”?…va-jo-li-ro-ja? say it aloud, i swear it does…perhaps its the ultimate coincidence for the world’s favorite pirate/family man.

Depp has managed to keep his family out of the spotlight for years now, thanks to making wise lifestyle choices. I doubt they are hiding on the yacht. More likely, they’ve found ways of getting out and about anonymously, avoiding attention. It can be done.
Must be nice to live on a yacht. I just hope they don’t catch a dangerous wave or storm system.

Like having the movie studio pay for the upkeep, security, transportation, etc. of his using his yacht, instead of renting a house during filming, is sooooo laid back, down to earth and normal.
