Ben Stiller Saves The Children

Ben Stiller shows children their own images on his camera during a visit to Karamoja, Uganda where Save the Children is helping educate children who otherwise would have no chance to go to school as part of its global Rewrite the Future initiative.

The 43-year-old actor shared, “I visited Uganda this year and saw firsthand how Save the Children is making a difference in the lives of children in need. Even in the poorest, most remote communities, I saw children who were excited about learning and teachers who were helping their students to achieve. Save the Children’s education programs–many of them in areas of war and conflict–are bringing hope to children who clearly love the opportunity to go to school and try to rewrite the future for themselves and their communities.”

You can watch the video below, which highlights the fundraising campaign created by Bulgari.

i really feel sad everytime i see impoverished children, and i really wish more celebrities would donate their time and money more ,instead of caring about superficial things. Its soo crazy how much the world is messed up , with celebrities buying 15 million dollar homes and children in africa starving.

@emma.: I thought that was mean. Joaquin went MIA after that. he probably has some real serious issues and he has the manorexic jerk making fun of him .

i love stiller!! :D bruno is basically the zoolander upgrade

If Africa wasn’t neglected, and was given work like the rest of the world they would not be suffering so much. The US has built up India, China, Mexico, and other nations by out sourcing jobs to them. They don’t do that for African nations.

I don’t mean this meanly, I just really don’t understand how having celebrities go take pictures with the poor African children does any good for the children. It seems to do more good for the celebrity because they get good press out of it and that good press usually comes right before a new project comes out. I’m sure many of these celebrities mean well, but it just seems like another photo op.

Save the Children does good work, so they should be celebrated–not some celebrity hawking their latest movie, CD, etc.

    agree with you 100%

It brings in more attention to the charity and more people will donate, #15.

Why question someone’s motives for helping out? The end result is still the same and the victims sure as hell don’t care what the motive is.

Good for Ben and this organization… but we need to do even more. Check out http://www.doctorsgivingback.org. Another cool organization that works in Ethiopia providing medical care. Most of the kids there don’t even make it to age 5 due to lack of medicines and basic needs like food and water. We really need to do all we can. It’s bad for a lot of people here in the US, but I could not imagine having no clean water, no food, malaria, typhoid, and only 3 doctors available to treat one million people! It really doesn’t take much to donate to any charity (it’s all a tax write off!). A very small donation goes a long way. I applaud any celebrities who bring attention to the world’s suffering and to the people/charities who care enough to help.
