Hugh Dancy Channels His Inner Adam

Hugh Dancy shows off a bit of chest on the pages of VMAN magazine’s actor portfolio for its summer 2009 issue, on stands TODAY!

The 33-year-old British actor will next star in Adam, an unlikely love story with costar Rose Byrne. Even Hugh was surprised by the way the film ultimately came together: “Because of the nature of who Adam is, I was quite locked inside myself while filming. My experience was inside a bubble. Then I saw it and realized it’s a movie about connections, and it’s very accessible in that way. Adam’s oddnesses only serve as a metaphor for all of us trying to make contact, all of us trying to reach out to another human being.”

Hugh, who splits his time between London and New York, has an obvious knack for connecting. Asked about his relationship with fiancee Claire Danes, he responds with a characteristic wrinkling of the eyebrows and a friendly smile, then says, “It’s going very well, thank you.” Even when stonewalling, he can’t help but be utterly charming.

Other pictures include Hugh and Claire earlier this month at the 2009 Costume Institute Gala at The MET and at Time‘s 100 Most Influential People in the World Gala at the Frederick P. Rose Hall at Jazz at NYC’s Lincoln Center.
