There Is No Official Twitter TV Show

Yesterday, it was announced that social-networking service Twitter will develop an unscripted TV series that would “put players on the trail of celebrities in an interactive, competitive format.”

The official Twitter blog just posted a little clarification: “There is no official Twitter TV show—although if there were it would be fun to cast! In dealing with networks and production companies we sometimes have simple agreements. Regarding the [Reveille productions and Brillstein Entertainment Partners] project reported today, we have a lightweight, non-exclusive, agreement with the producers which helps them move forward more freely.”

The proposed series is the first to bring the immediacy of Twitter to the TV screen.

it is not like twitter is obsessive lets make it a tv show

If that were to happen I think it’s safe to assume celebrities wouldn’t be tweeting as much anymore..

lets get rid of it @ 05/26/2009 at 12:35 pm

Yes and lets go after the people that started Twitter too. Find out all
the dirty secrets of their lives in full view of all Twitter members and
everyone else.. Why go after celebrities it is bad enough as it is..

Yes to Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise and Paris Hilton and people
like that but leave everyone else out of it..

Celebrities who twitter are less likely to attract stalkers. Why is this you ask? Well, from the celebrity tweets that I’ve read, it’s clear that the so called ‘celebrity lifestyle’ is blown out of all proporation. Most celebrity twitterers are down to earth and lead regular (at times mundane) lives just like the rest of us. There really is no ‘them and us’ and the more people that realize this the better.

I think the tV idea sucks to be honest, and twitter should instead focus on developing the service the way the users are demanding. Please fix @replies. Twitter has not been the same since!
