There is a lot of mean-spirited and hate-filled bashing of pretty young girls who look to have done nothing more than pose for a pic with David Cook or to have be seen with him. Posters there have tried to get added to these girls myspaces by pretending to be their friends so they can get the inside “scoop”. They mock them and cyberstalk them and make plans to physically stalk them. One of them even actually stalked Lana Jade at a birthday party she was throwing for a friend at a local club. They also cannot drop their obsession with Kimberly Caldwell even though they broke up over 6 months ago. They continue to bash her and pick apart the details of her life.

These women need to get a life. They have no shame. They call themselves “fans” while trying to uncover the “dirt” on Cook. They say they are only doing these things because they have his best interests at heart. How it is in his best interest for “fans” to invade his privacy is beyond me but is this the best they could come up with? Those who find DCU too harsh and mean should just stay on DCO or WNH or a board where you’re not allowed to voice any real negative opinions on anything. Some of us are certainly fans of David, but we also don’t like every thing about him either. I think some of his fans are f***king morons (I’m sure he does too but can’t say it), that his taste in women is questionable, that some of the songs on his CD are not as good as I expected, and that he has an ego he needs to keep in check at times. If I said any of this on a standard fan board, I’d get burned at the stake or punished by the mods.

I am a member on DCU and probably one of a few guys over there, but I have to say, Holly is one of the hottest looking moderators over there and I believe a member over there met her in Atlantic City.

I think David is an incredible musician, that is all I care about and that board seems to find everything. They have tons of video from Analog Heart to Axium. There is only one section on the board that talks about the girl stuff.

This posted did praise FREE SPEECH and that people have a board to openly discuss things, but the whole point was to ask people to gain some perspective, stop bashing and really think about why they are ‘fans’. That is not praising the board. It’s asking the people on the board to get a grip in a polite way and stop all the negative talk about David’s personal life.

They take their laptops on planes and sometimes to boring meetings when they have time. Both their jobs include living on a computer, and based from what I read over there, they just switch screens back and forth. When Holly works on a campagin and gets busy, Savannah takes over. Oh believe me, I was banned! I have a screenshot of my banning. I was very surprised, as although many people probably did not agree with me, many did. Basically I was logged in again yesterday after my little rant the day before and I made a post in support of something another poster said, and all of I sudden I was banned. I logged-out and tried to log-in several times, thinking it was a mistake, but no I was definitely banned. Like I said, I love most of the posters at that site, and despite what some might say, a great deal of intelligent discussion transpires there. The David Cook HATE was not coming from the regulars, but a few new posters with obvious agendas.

I couldn’t believe some of the stuff I was reading about DCU on here so I had to check it out for myself. Oh. MY. God. I read through the girlfriend threads and they are so full of sh*t. The level of obsession they have about every little detail of David’s private life is beyond belief. It is really unhealthy. Most of the horrible things they are saying about him and any of the girls that they suspect may have had anything to do with him appear to have little or no basis in fact whatsoever. Holly, get a clue. Just taking a picture with someone doesn’t mean you are sleeping with them. If I go by your logic I must have had sex with half the guys in my dorm….because sometimes I wear makeup and take pictures standing next to them. Free speech? What a joke. He can hardly talk to a pretty girl without them jumping to all kinds of conclusions about him being in a relationship with her. Well they use much cruder language than relationship. I thought it was really cute how David asked Kimberly Caldwell out for dinner last year. She is a very pretty girl and she seems to have such a fun personality. “Classy” is such a subjective term. Some might find patrician features, designer clothes and A-list celebrity status “classy”. Others might find a kind, accepting heart, a vibrant mind and a sense of humour “classy”, and have the good sense to recognize that one cannot ascertain those qualities based on such shallow markers as features, clothes and societal status.

Unfortunately there is a high probability that the Brendon Urie story is true. But common on … don’t many of us do silly things when we’re young? Lana hasn’t back stabbed David. Kimberly Caldwell hasn’t bashed him. Perhaps he has good taste in women after all, since they have been CLASSY enough to show him a lot of respect after a break up.
I don’t care what anybody at DCU says … I think both women “clean up” nice and they are arm candy to a rock star like David. Caldwell is not a stupid woman. She was smart enough to earn the kind of money it takes to buy a house in West Hollywood, and to get quite a few good career opportunities. The blond hair feeds the stereotype of “stupid”, but that she ain’t!

And curioso, that’s just it, there are no credible reports on DCU of what really happened at VA Beach, merely idle speculation, and lots of it. It is known that David was in VA, it is known that Lana was in VA, it is known that they are at least casually acquainted. END OF STORY.

Yes Lana did post a couple of months back at DCU when a picture surfaced of her in a bar in Towson with a group of people, which happened to include David Cook. Apparently hearing that her character was being assasinated over at DCU, she waded in, defended herself and David, and promptly left. It was brief, but I still remember how ugly it was. This is what I posted on DCU at the time:

Good points mandapanda. Their other major activity is to engage in psychology 101 about David’s character/personality. For example, they always refer to him as being “insecure” and this is the reason for choosing questionable women that they don’t approve of. What a joke! Who isn’t insecure to some degree. Everybody has their insecurities.
Or they think he should confront the stalkerazzi fans about their so-called “inappropriate” behavior at the concerts. Why would he do this? It’s no skin of his purdy a>ss if fans want to attend 60 concerts and wear bunny ears. Arggggghhhhh! @the real mandapanda: I remember that about the flowers. Someone also posted about Shannon that she was taunting the fans by saying she would be busy with the “bus tour”. They made the assumption that she was talking about David’s bus and got all upset over it. Turns out the “bus tour” she was talking about was a promotional event for some local radio contest she was in. I never saw any proof that she was at all involved with David other than that she took a photo with him that looked pretty much like any other fan pic. Holly just digs up these things and posts them with suggestive comments to get the ball rolling again any time traffic slows down over there.

Here’s the thing with DCU…it’s free speech, but only if your speech is the speech they want to hear. My first major warning at DCU came after a girl started calling one of the girls they were speculating about ignorant, arrogant and quite a few other nasty names. I told this girl that by saying all of this about a woman she’d never met and had only learned about through DCU’s gossip was making her the very same things she was accusing her of. Obviously, criticizing or pointing out the hypocrisy of other members is against the rules.

i don’t agree, suenigma. speculation starts when you have only sketchy circumstantial evidence to work with. if david simply dated openly, ( ie, holding hands, or having a verbal exchange in public *GASP*!!) then there would be little speculation about it! sure, the ‘jellus haterz’ would bash the poor girl, and call her a classless, sl*t, ho, sk*nk and all that, but they’re doing that to lana ANYWAY. plus, since they’re not 100% sure about lana, they fling their crap all over innocent bystander- shannon, or whoever else they feel like trashing because they are young, cute, and got within 5 miles of david.

Well, she could just delete ALL the inactive accounts and lurker accounts and get rid of me. But her site is “growing” you know every day. If she deleted all those accounts she would show a sudden drop in membership. Then she would have to do all that work to set up a bunch of fake accounts to make up for it. I did notice that where many of the threads were started by Admin(Holly) that now there are threads being started by her “newest members”. I am impressed by how quickly they became active and started posting and starting new threads. When I first signed up for DCO it took me a while to jump in and post anything. I have yet to start any new threads there. I must be so slow. I also noticed how similar the “newest members” vocabulary is. Maybe they all went to that same law school together…or something.

If anyone listened to David’s radio interview from yesterday, he said he has NO LOVE LIFE right now. He also talked about his manager Michelle asking him if he was dating someone because of these photos being made public. He said NO, he was not dating anyone.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these comments about DCU. I can say unequivocally that David does not like Holly, the DCU board, or any of the “fans” that frequent that site. He basically thinks Holly is crazy. I agree whole-heartedly with him.

If you guys on here have some free time, go to David-Cook.org and read the posts by “fanforlife” on there. That was Holly posting on that site, until she got kicked off. She also has been kicked off the Word Nerd Home and basically was told to get lost from the Bitten by a Cougar site. (Yes, she makes fun of older fans but used to go on the cougar site.) There are other sites she has gotten kicked out of, including even VFTW, where she posted as “formercookfan”. So, which is it Holly? Are you a fan for life, or a former cook fan? Or does it depend on which personality is showing at the time, like all your fake members on DCU?

Someone on here posted a while back about a fan getting kicked off of David’s personal MySpace page last year. Well, guess who that was? You got it!! Holly!! Also, there was talk of a fan yelling at him and berating him for not meeting the fans after the Idol tour stop in Philly last year. I give you 3 guesses as to who that fan was, and the first 2 don’t count!!! If you said HOLLY, you win the grand prize!! She sent him messages on MS saying how rude he was to his fans and blaming it all on Kim Caldwell. The messages were completely over the top and she was banned from sending him further messages.

If you go back to the fanforlife posts on D-C.org, she talks about Shannon being a friend of hers (though she didn’t give Shannon’s name at the time). Yet, on DCU, she said she didn’t know Shannon personally. Yet again, one of the split personalities shows up at different times.

For those of you that have been “banned” from DCU, count your blessings. If you are a true fan, you do NOT want to be associated in any way with Holly, her site, or even her make-believe “mods” and members. She is totally crazy–no joke.

I feel stupid for even admitting to this but after reading about that DCU site on here I decided to check it out for myself. They did have some informative threads but those did not seem very busy. The most active threads there are the ones where they pry into his personal life. Seriously, they are still discussing the details of how David first asked Kimberly Caldwell out and how he “lied” to them. God. That happened over a year ago. And they are still making hateful remarks about her. They broke up last year and David seems to have moved on with his life. You would think they could have gotten over it by now. It just does not seem very healthy to me to be so obsessed about something like that. And one of them accused me of being a “Kimberly Caldwell fan” for questioning anything.

Holly totally backtracked on the Lana Jade “story” and is now saying it was just speculation. The story about David’s “new Girlfriend” they are currently discussing is so full of holes and beyond ridiculous that I can’t believe anyone could find that site to be a credible source of information about anything. I told them I thought the site was nothing more than a gossip pit and deleted my account there. I hope if David Cook is aware of that site that he understands it is only a very tiny percentage of his fans that are involved with it. I think there were less than a dozen people logged on there most of the time I was on.

Lana Jade looks very cute but I think he said he’s not dating anyone right now? He is probably too busy with his tour. He seems like he’s got a good head on his shoulders.
