'America's Got Talent' Boosts NBC Ratings

The two-hour premiere of our sponsor America’s Got Talent helped NBC win the night with 11.3 million viewers, though it slipped 14% from last year’s debut.

Got Talent creator Simon Cowell predicted that the show’s ratings would get a boost thanks to Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle but it didn’t.

The show was hosted by Nick Cannon and judged by Sharon Osbourne, David Hasselhoff and Piers Morgan. More info on the show @ NBC.com.

Susan Boyle probably helped to decrease rating. Too much overexposure and her breakdown probably turned people off.

I don’t watch the show, but my friends called me to watch just for Nick. He was soooo funny! I think people should watch just for him. Not that I’m going to rush to see the show now. LOL

I really enjoyed the new host……… but sick of David Hasselhoff he’s as annoying as Paul Abdul is on American Idol.

I won’t be watching this show again, I watched the first 45 min of this show and was very bored with it.

    Bye Bye AGT!

I want to watch America’s Got Talent, I really do. But I am so puzzled by the lack of virtue. You show America one poor act after another and we see the pre, during and post of the act; then after the judges have pressed the Xs, we watch them each verbally vote. When you have a really good act, the camera breaks away during the act to show Nick, the judges faces, and the audience. We at home really miss the whole thing. This is especially annoying when the act is dancers. You make the show so HARD to watch. I like the judges but your show centers around them. Most of us only have so much time to watch TV. If you want a GREAT show, prove America has talent by simply showing the talent. If you can’t beef it up, why not do a show called, “America’s Full of Diluted People” or “How We Can Waste Your Time With Garbage” No wonder the ratings are bad and people hate watching – you torture America!
