Michael Jackson's Publicist Speaks

Michael Jackson‘s former publicist, Michael Levine, just released the following statement regarding today’s tragic news.

“As someone who served as Michael Jackson‘s publicist during the 1st child molestation incident, I must confess I am not surprised by today’s tragic news. Michael has been on an impossibly difficult and often self-destructive journey for years. His talent was unquestionable but so too was his discomfort with the norms of the world. A human simply can not withstand this level of prolonged stress.”

strange comment to make for someone who was his publicist.

I had block A1 tickets to see him in London. I am so upset I will ever see such a legend in concert.

Theres no doubt this concert was the death of him. *sadness*

MJ – the originator – you will be missed.

  • TRUTH HURTS.

    RIP. YOU WILL BE MISSED.

  • mia

This dude needs to shut up. MJ is not even cold yet. He def had issues, but that doesn’t detract from the influence he had on the world through music. No one will ever make as big a difference in music than he did. Music is what it is today because of people like Elvis and Michael.

I wore out my Thriller album back in the day. Had MJ birthday cakes, the goofy pants, even a glitter glove.

  • jb

One of a kind. His music will live on. RIP MJ.

  • REEVEN

This is NOT the moment to say those things
respect for the man and the artist, all human ben have issues, nobody is perfect.
for now, let him rest in peace.

  • joyce

well…. he is probably right……….but, I would not have said it so soon after his death

  • S.A.M.

My mother always told me if you don’t have something good to say, be quiet. This is the most inappropriate thing I have EVER heard. No matter if that was true, this man has a family and kids.

  • Ginny

    Totally agree… ASS!!

MJ will be missed… so damn shocked… now i know what ppl felt when Elvis died!!!
    RIP – King of Pop!

  • Sugaroo

MJ will be sorely missed. I am too upset to type.

  • shenanyginz

ouch. you couldn’t wait till next week? Come on not the day the man dies. what an asshole.

  • Algerian Girl

STFU, show some respect and decency for god sake, the guy just passed away, after taking advantages of him and still cause if he is on the top new headlines it’s because of micheal’s death, you’re trashing him the day of his death with rumours wow even the day of his death rumours wouldn’t end, this people have a heart ?

  • E

What did Michael Levin do to help Michael Jackson in life? Why is he badmouthing him in death?

  • silentsophi

What an honest statement. There was much honesty. I can’t wait until his kids are old enough to write a book. I have to imagine their world like ALice in Wonderland and their “father” the mad hatter.

  • jaye

The man isn’t saying anything we don’t know. As his publicist he knew Michael Jackson better than any of his fans. I love Micheal’s music, but he isn’t God; he’s was a human being who had problems like anyone else. His death didn’t change that, but he is at peace now.

  • E

Maybe if someone would have helped MJ when HE WAS A CHILD, the cycle would have been broken. Children should not be exploited or abused.

  • pop86

What he is saying is probably true because he was probably one of Michael’s enablers however he could have waited to a more appropriate time.

  • Rocky

even if its true what he is saying, he passed away JUST HOURS AGO
    Sh*t the F+ck up you St*pid A$$

Also: I would like to punch Sarah Silverman for her comments over at twitter

  • emily

What a rude comment. Michael Levine needs to think before he speaks. May Michael Jackson rest in peace.

  • F u g F a c e M a n ! s t o n

i swear to god i still cant believe it. i grew up on mj.

  • nyob

He may be speaking the truth, but it is entirely inappropriate. What a dick.

  • irish girl

Wow… stab in the back post death.

  • alanah

    RIP jacko

  • Toni

How unkind as someone who worked side by side with MJ.

RIP MJ, you are in many people;s thoughts.

  • voe

OMG! Why do we have this kind of men/people? There’s no need for this kind of opinions/info, only the decency of silence to let the man rest and his beloved mourn their lost in peace.

  • Donna

    Wow dude, you’re an ass!!!

  • Question mark

    @mia:

:( And I used to roll toilet paper over my hands and pretend that I was Michael with my make shift Michael Jackson glove….

  • wi

Dude needs to shut up, theres a time and place for those kind of things, and I dont care if it was true or not, it was extremely insensitive.

  • ashi JIJI

I really can’t stand it when people make these vague, veiled, insinuating statement that seem to be meant solely to give people the impression they had access to intimate information.

If Mr. Levine had good solid truthful and necessary information he should just say it plainly. Either you have something truthful to say or just keep your mouth shut.

I mean what does “his discomfort with the norms of the world”. As John Mayer sang ” say what you mean to say”.

  • Question mark

Oh and to be honest I don’t think his statement was too bad. From what I got from it he said that Michael has had a tough past couple of…decades. He’s been through hell. I’m just really sad he was just about to rebuild his life. I guess it was his time to go…maybe he found peace in the days preceding his death, at least I sure hope so :(

  • redb

SHUT UP Mr. Levine……….your parents failed to teach you a modicum of decency.

You need to be skewered for those callous, icy comments. You will NOT RIP when your time comes…..JERK!!!!!!!!

  • Life_is_the_Pitts

little boys and his kids will be safer now….sorry but true

  • oscar

No great loss really. Happy to hear this news today. The freak is no longer. Hooray. The ‘blanket’ can now come off and the kids can be normal for the first time in their lives !!!

  • Jill

What an ásshole. Jared, please delete this entire thread. The guy’s a world-class creep.

Your mother should have thrown you out and kept the afterbirth.

  • http://justjared just sayin

#30 he said” as someone who worked as his publicist
during the 1st molestation trial”, you needed him to be clearer
    then that !?

everyone seems to have forgotten he was a child molester
or because he was the king of pop did that make it okay !

    just curious ?!

  • Ela

Michael Levine, you are a total no account jackass. Crawl back under the rock you just slithered out from. R.I.P. Michael.

  • http://michaeljacksondies09.com/ Michael Jackson

    Damn that was harsh

  • leo

Oh really Jill – get a life !! Seems like you spend too much time on this website anyway posting comments about anyone and anything. Afterall I note you said the “guy was a creep” in your post. What was really wrong with what Oscar wrote. Honesty goes a long way these days.

  • marainsconset

Michael, forever you will be etched in our family’s heart. Rest in Peace. We will miss you it hurts …just when we were anxiously waiting for a comeback, perhaps a new beginning. But I think you’re much happier now and in peace. Your music will live on forever and your memories. May your family and children find peace and comfort. Au revoir!

  • Marcella

Hard and sad to believe. He did music with his heart and this will be forever… this publicist should be quiet in a shock moment like this… if he wants to tell wht he knew just wait the right moment… but not now…

How would you know how often I post on here unless you’re stalking me? And you’re telling me to get a life? Pot, meet kettle.
    .
The guy isn’t even cold in his grave and this creep publicist is already bad-mouthing him. Does the term “common decency” mean anything to you or is it a totally alien concept? I’m betting the second.

  • mia

    @Question mark:

I’m sure I did that too, before my parents bought me the glove…lol

  • http://www.rr.com Courtney

MJ is one of the greatest performers and no one could duplicate or copy what he had done…it’s just so sad that he’s been sidelined because of so many scandals…

Hope that he will finally rest in peace!

  • marisa

I still cannot believe it. I love you Michael, forever and always.
Every ending has a new beginning. You’re music will live on forever. No one can ever, and i mean EVER replace the king of pop. I will pray for your family and keep you in my prayers. <3

  • *A*

He wasn’t saying anything bad but that Michael’s had a lot of stress from the world from child molestation accusations. Which till this day we have no idea that it’s true. He’s only saying that a human can only handle so much until he breaks. So be kind to others, we’re all going through something.

  • wow

I could not have said it better. My heart is sad at the loss of Michael Jackson & my heart aches for his children & family.

  • sheryl

Earlier I was watching a special report about Michael’s death on CNN, and they got into talking about Joe Jackson and their problems, and I really thought that was inappropriate as well. No matter what has happened, this family is grieving right now, and it’s extremely tacky to be talking about that stuff.

  • sheryl

Oh, and this publicist guy? What’s his deal? Is this a precursor for some tell-all he’ll be promoting in the near future?
