R.I.P. Michael. I love you with all my heart and always will. Words cannot describe the loss for this world, but you will continue to make it a better place from heaven. Nobody can hurt you anymore, but you will live forever. Much love.

  • sad

I know it is a shock he died and very young. . .but Farrah Fawcett passed also, from a long battle with cancer, and she is not being honored like this.

Michael made a huge impact on the music industry, but his personal life was a mess. The media was NEVER this nice to him when he was alive. He was joke, and that is sad.

  • janice

R.I.P you will be greatly missed

  • D9

Ok, I would hardly call that sharing the cover– she’s a speck in the corner! I would rather not be pictured at all than to be placed like this.

  • angie

That’s a very good picture of him. <3 RIP Michael.

  • KING OF Pop

MICHAEL YOU ARE THE KING! GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MEMORIES AND GRACING US WITH YOUR PRESENCE! WE ALL LOVE YOU VERY MUCh! YOU ARE A GIFT TO THE WORLD AND WE ARE SAD BY YOUR UNTIMELY PASSING. THE LEGEND, THE ENTERTAINER, THE FATHER, THE SON, THE BROTHER, THE KING OF ALL MUSIC, THE HUMANITARIAN….THE WORLD IS MOURNING FOR YOU!

  • karenina

im pissed that michael’s death is overshading farrah’s.. farrah was an amazing sex symbol! RIP

  • Jill

Farrah Fawcett never had one percent as much influence on TV or films than Michael Jackson had on music. Plus, Jackson’s death was a shock for being totally unexpected, whereas poor Fawcett had been dying for at least two years and the end was expected any day.

  • Coralie

Aww I love this pic, he’s gorgeous!!
R.I.P Michael, you are with angels now.

  • Amy

He changed the music world irrevocably and will always be The King!! Love U Michael.

  • http://www.Cousinalicespress.com namers

It’s a gorgeous picture, as is the one coming out on Time Magazine’s cover.

No disrespect to Farrah meant. She and Ed were honored for who they were too.

Michael’s loss is palpable and his music will live on and on.

  • dundies

    lol were you being sarcastic

Michael Jackson was an Icon. Michael set such high standards for anyone that is in the music industry. I mean let’s face it, there will never be anybody that could ever come close to accomplishing what he did. As sad as I am about Farrah Fawcet she never had the impact on the movie and T.V industry as Michael had on the music industry. Ed McManhon died a few days ago and you don’t hear anything about him. Michael Jackson’s death is an absolute tradgedy and he will be greatly missed. Michael just can’t be compared to anyone. I truly hope that the media will be a lot kinder to him in death then they were when he was alive. Love you MIchael. You will never be forgotton. R.I.P

Michael Jackson was a gifted musician you will see once in a lifetime. We will miss him. The jesse jacksons and al sharptons will be coming out of the wood work now. Sigh.

  • mimi

Michael Jackson completely changed the face of the music industry with his songs. He brought about fashion trends, new dance moves, hairstyles, etc. He had a prolific 40 year career in the music industry. Farrah Fawcett was the sex symbol of the 70′s who created a frenzy for her Charlie’s Angels hairstyle. I’m not sure why it’s even a question as to why he’s getting more coverage then her? We all knew Fawcett’s end was soon as she documented her courageous fight against cancer but Jackson’s death was a devastating blow- hence all of the media coverage!

  • Pining for Chris

Look Farrah isn’t being honoured like this because she didn’t make as big of an impact as Michael did. Plain and simple.

Don’t think if MJ died a different time, Farrah would have had AS big of a send off. Half the people I know, don’t even know who she is. I agree with Jill, people saw this coming with her.

This is the most ridiculous comment I’ve ever read ! Farrah Fawcett was a legend herself. And on top of that, she suffered greatly from a disease called cancer. Shame on you for posting such a heartless comment.

  • Sally g.

    I’m over this now.

    Enough already

  • tvfan

I think this is insulting to Farrah Fawcett and her memory-a small tiny picture on the cover. They should have had equal coverage on TV guide. What about Ed McMahon too.

  • thank you #18

Thank you K #18. Shame on Jill indeed.

It must suck to be a celebrity and die on the same day as MJ.

  • Why was his body tempt so low

It was reported that his body was cold to the touch. However, the coroner said foul play was not suspected. But there are questions. The 911 call happened way after he died. The rectal tempt should have been able to pin point the death-I really think he died at 11:55-The guy didn’t even tell the paramedics who it was. Anyone upset would have because they would think the celebrity status would make them RUSH-CPR was performed on the bed and not the floor? The concert promoters are set to get more if he died than if he performed and they were afraid he wouldn’t be able to. If a patient is addicted, an honorable medical doctor would not administer narcotics-Michael had problems, we know. But there was a long string of enablers just like with Anna Nicole.

  • Cloey

Someone at work said this, thought it was funny. Should cheer up this somber environment. Anyway, so my coworker says, “You know, they are probably gonna melt his body and with all the plastic create a lego land depiction of him.” – ha ha ha :) Sorry if its too soon for some, but laughter is the best medicine, right?

  • yep

I agree with JILL. Seriously, Farrah was not that big of a star. MJ was a legend. Of course the media is going to overdo it. When have then not when a HUGE personality had passed. The second I heard MJ die I said it’s going to be like Princess Diana. MJ had an international following.

  • brad

I LIKE Farrah if Michael was not in the cover. I am sure they would not even put her so they try to be nice to her. MJ is the world. he is the most power human being in this planet….every one is crying….RIP

  • wtf

Honoring a pedophile. The world is sick.

  • ,ld.s

Michael Jackson was a legend way beyond Farrah Fawcett’s league and while I understand where her fans feel like her death isn’t being taken into account they have to understand how much of an influence Michael Jackson was in today’s society and how sudden his death was. He wasn’t necessarily seen as a joke to everyone but his life was indeed a spectacle but no one wanted him to die. His music and dance was legendary so he will be missed dearly.

    ______
And Elvis was a pervert and married a 14-year-old and had a general taste for underage girls in white cotton panties.. Your point? And sorry, Michael was acquitted, and if you actually examined the trial, you would know how much of a joke the evidence was.

  • katy

Michael was famous more because he was a freakshow than because of his impact on music. Sure, he was good. But if he hadn’t had so much plastic surgery and gone from black to white like he did, he wouldn’t have been nearly as famous. I’m not saying there wasn’t a reason for his craziness because he really never got a childhood. But saying that he had such a HUGE impact on music is kind of a false statement. He had a huge impact on pop-culture, yes. I’m just tired of hearing his music everywhere and seeing his face. Sad that he died to early, though.

    @LuckyL

Lol, I was just about to say the same thing (to Katy).
Thank you for having the sense to not buy into the MEDIA bullshit about the trial. If some ignorant fools would do the same, they too would know the trail was a damn joke. And the childrens parents were scheming MF’s who wanted money.

  • Shawna

@katy: How old are you? Obviously not old enough to have been around in the 70s through early 90s and know the huge affect he had on music. Seriously, what are you 16?

  • DON’T STOP TILL YOU GET ENOUGH

RIP Mike. I’ve been enjoying the videos show on VH!, MTV and BET. I forgot just how fabulous they were!!!!!!!!! I had forgotten that BAD was directed by Martin Scorsese!!! Michael’s vision for his videos were better than today’s filmmakers. They were short films. I’m not stopping watching these videos till I get enough.

  • DON’T STOP TILL YOU GET ENOUGH

I meant VH1 (both of their channels. I loved Screaam vidoe with Janet. So many stars in his videos. Sigh….

  • brina

nice pic, this breaks my heart i’m so sad

  • 70′s chick

Farrah (RIP) was def the beauty icon of the 70′s but made headlines as a model in the 60′s. Farrah’s “look” was responsible for the blonde hair blue eyed girl next door that the fashion industry was looking for. That brought on the Cheryl Tiegs, Christie Brinkley, Kim Alexis etc.. into the spotlight. Farrah still holds the record for the most posters ever sold by a celeb, surpassing even Michael. She even had all the paraphernalia associated with being a big star around her like posters, lunch boxes, notebooks, t shirts, etc… But get this, Farrah was iconic to boys. men and girls who wanted to look like her. Her fame was purely due to the physical even though she was very talented. Her image was everywhere even during the Brooke Sheilds years in the 80′s. No she wasn’t as big as Michael (who is?) but she was big enough to be considered an icon. I lived through the whole thing. I remember those notebooks with Farrah on them.

As for Mike, RIP. He knew Farrah since they were in the same orbit at one time and Ryan O’Neal’s daughter Tatum was Mike’s first girlfriend. I understand that Tatum can barely talk as she lost two important people in her life the same day.

The world is celebrating Mike’s achievement as a breakthrough artist and visionary. He’s the original. All the others are copies. The beat goes on……..

  • jaye

If I were not wishing my life away, I’d fast forward a month from now. The man was an Entertainer, not God, not Jesus, Not Gandhi, Not MLK, an Entertainer who people had mostly forgotten until he died.

  • mimi

    LOVE THE PIC!!

  • stickin with a name

Oh #2, how you are right

And honestly, its horrible that Farrah is being overshadowed like this. Ofcourse Jackson was a HUGE talent, but wow media, wth. It’s almost like Farrah’s an after thought, and thats not right. She didn’t do anything to cause her death unlike some of these celebs..

  • hey

Michael was on the cover of 99% of the newspapers in the US. the day after he died. Even the small rural ones. Farrah was on the cover of about 50% of the papers. Her funeral will be first on Tuesday. So sad. It’s funny how regular people can actually change the course of a culture just by being……..

  • katy

    @Shawna:

Maybe he changed music, but if his impact was that huge people like me wouldn’t feel the way I do. I wasn’t alive when Elvis was musically popular but I still recognize what a huge impact he had on music. I think the fact that I wasn’t around in the 70′s and have the attitude that I do about him shows that he hasn’t made that much of an impact. People my age honestly don’t know him as a performer as much as we know him as a freakshow and I think that speaks for how much of an “impact” he’s had.

  • shoes4life

There will never be nor is there another entertainer like Michael Jackson. He was definitely one of a kind and the only really, truly creative artist alive who has impacted not just our country but the WORLD!

His stardom was global and no one has ever accomplished that, NO ONE!

God bless the Jackson family in this sad but joyous time. I say joyous because Michael may not have had a chance to make a come back (to me he never left) through touring but his name is being praised and acknowledge BIG TIME in his passing, sad but great!

His legacy will live on in our hearts.

  • goodnight

The Osmonds, The Sylvers, New Edition, Backstreet boys, NSync, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Britney, Beyonce, Diddy, Chris Brown the entire Disney crew including the old Mickey Mouse club, etc.. all are direct decendents artistically of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5.

Missy Elliott is the direct decendent of Michael video wise. Very creative.

The public is still listening to music recorded by Michael when he was 8 years old. A few weeks ago at this store they were playing some song obviously sung by a child. I listened closely because it was so angelic. I thought that this must be some phenon new on the scene as children usually don’t have recording contracts. Then I realized..wait a minute…it was Michale Jackson as a child!. The song was “Who’s loving you”. All these decades later they were still being played.

If you hear any song sung by a child in any store or restaurant speaker and the radio..it’s most likely Michael when he was with Motown.

The man was an Entertainer, not God, not Jesus, Not Gandhi, Not MLK, an Entertainer who people had mostly forgotten until he died. I totally agree with this statement. He was a total freak ,turning himself white and getting the white kids..i can’t believe that all the african american still just worship this man who didn’t even want to be african american. Yea, it’s sad that he passed so young but like his ex wife said..he knew he would go like her dad so he continued taking all his pills and crap..It’s just crazy, i’m sick of seeing it on every channel that i turn to. Everyone’s just trying to get their ratings up…I’ll be glad when those tox reports come back and he’s buried so the news coverage can get back to the truly relevant issues that this country is facing. It’s gonna be anna nicole all over again and he is NOT the only performer that is know worldwide-
