Beyonce sparkles in Balmain on the red carpet at the 2009 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (June 28) in Los Angeles.
The 27-year-old songstress and rapper T.I. were top contenders for trophies, with a leading five nominations each. She is up for best R&B female, best actress and video of the year.
Beyonce is also expected to perform (she reportedly changed her piece to honor Michael Jackson).

Andrea Bochelli would not sing Ava Maria at Tom and Katie’s wedding in Italy because they were not Catholic. If you want to hear one of the best versions listen to it sung by the tenor Luciano Pavarotti – incredible and with all due respect a few notches above Beyonce.

Actually, I have traveled around the world, where in different cultures Ave Maria and other prayer songs do get changed depending on the culture and how it chooses to celebrate that day. Bad example: You could have a Mariachi band do Ave Maria. I’ve seen a Steel Drum band do prayer songs when I was on a Caribbean vacation.
Beyonce can sing whatever she wants. If your offended, that’s your problem.

Actually, I have traveled all over the world and nobody has messed up Ave Maria in the way Beyonce has, that’s my opinion. She sings beautiful but she does no justice to this beautiful sacred song.
