Harry Potter Conjures Up $20 Million First Day

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince pulled in $20 million during its midnight run at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, according to Variety.

The best midnight run of all time!!!

That figure beats the $18 million earned by the latest Batman flick, The Dark Knight, which is also a film by Warner Bros. The next best film was 20th Century Fox’s Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith with $17 million.

TELL JJ: Did you see the midnight screening of Harry Potter? How was it?!

Nah, it had to do better than that…the movie theater that my sister and I went to had 4 theatres reserved for the new HP series…and at least the three were sold out…I think it pulled in more on its first opening midnight showing…IT was great and I can’t wait to see it again…the directors have a great way of pulling out the visual imaginations of the scenes…GO SEE IT EVERYONE, IT’S GREAT!!!

Reviews both professional and by folks who ACTUALLY saw the HP movie are raves.
How would you know that Twilight is better if you haven’t seen HP. How ignorant a statement is that?
What are you? A teenager in love with Pattison?

Amazing! The movie followed the book very well! I mean, they left out some parts that I thought should be in the movie but, you can’t fit everything from a book in a movie!

It was absolutely spectacular! And I would give it an 11 out of 10 :)

im going to go see it this weekend, reality is:
if you like action then you’ll give bad reviews to drama
if you like drama then action will make you go to sleep

i like the HP series, i havent seen twilight so i wont give a review, a lot of people told me transformers sucked but i went to see it and it rocked.

Bottom line criticism is based upon imagination, cuz when people come outta the theater they say: “it wasnt what i imagined it would be like”
expectations are what give value to some reviews.

I went at midnight, it was AWESOME! They did a great job on this movie. Harry, Ron & Hermione’s acting just gets better and better. I was alittle disappointed with Ginny. Her character was different than in the book, not as confidant and popular, she didn’t have many lines and was pretty boring. Also, they should have made the ending a little more climactic. Other than those small things it was wonderful.

    stella Says:

It is quite good – I am in love with books, have read them since they first came to the states when I was 10. The movies have never really compared, but this installment is by far the best. It captures the feeling and themes of the book quite successfully and is comic and romantic to boot.

Plus, the theatre I was at had 8 screens showing it, and all were sold out. It was a mad-house. No way has HP mania fizzled out.
