    K.G. Says:

Ugh of course it would be Mad Hatter because of crazy Depp fans. Johnny Depp is soo overrated and plays the same type of characters again and again. i’ll get why people say he’s so versatile because he’s the same in all of his movies.

This is exactly what makes the film industry so annoying. Studios want easy no risk money. So Burton made a formula, same dark style, same plug-in actors and all he has to do is parasite British content as the start and let his crew elaborate. That brings him easy money too. This has neither the integrity, innocence or charm of the earlier versions and while Burton, who will no doubt take credit of all the hard work involved in making the special effects, the fact is the Burton himself is on an uncreative treadmill of formulaic output.

The usual suspects; Johnny, Tim, and Helen. I hear Helen say, with tongue in cheek, that she is jealous of Johnny’s special relationship with Tim. Those two have forged quite a handsome record of collaboration over the years. And it looks like that collaboration is still alive and well.

aaa(#31) – you are right. Tim Burton is a hack. I much prefer the more original work seen in movies like The Proposal, Bruno, Ben Button, etc. Those are the out-of-the-box kind of films Hollywood needs to keep producing. Not junk like Scissorhands, Ed Wood, and Sweeny Todd. Have you no taste?

clique. Same formula, essentially same characters and not only that, same actors to play them. How boring can this be?
Can Johnny Depp move out of these cartoonish clothes and play something else? He is becoming a caricature. Considering his talent and good looks it is kind of pity.
