OlderClaire Danes: BlackBook Babe Goes Bold
Claire Danes channels her inner sexy new ‘powerhouse’ look for the cover of the September Fall Fashion issue of BlackBook, on stands next week.
Shot in the penthouse of Manhattan’s Cooper Square Hotel, and inspired by the ‘Greed Decade’, the shoot shows the 30-year-old actress in an entirely new light and is one of the last major photo shoots before her marriage to Hugh Dancy next month. (They will wed in mid-September in France.) “He’s such a cutie patootie,” she says about her fiancé. “Sometimes I forget just how good-looking he is.
At one point Danes found herself flat on her back, legs in mid-air, with two stylists yanking boots down on each foot: “I’ve never felt so infantilized in my life.”
Danes will next star in Richard Linklater’s upcoming film Me and Orson Welles (starring alongside Zac Efron), and a controversial new movie, Temple Grandin.

Don’t hate on flatchested girls! However, this chick’s body is very disproportionate and her mug is manly. They must have taken over a thousand shots at that photoshoot to produce this handful of passable pics. She needs to get over herself!
WWWWHHHHYYYYYY did she pose for these pictures? Ms. Danes has been thought of as something of a cerebral actress (her youthful remarks about Manila aside), but she succumbed to vanity, to the need to be sexually desired. She’s short and, until recently, had rather thick thighs, and very small-breasted. There’s nothing wrong with that – in fact, she should CELEBRATE it. Instead, she’s wearing a leotard cut ridiculously high to lengthen her legs and to showcase her nipples. Her remarks about “infantilized” are appropros because she does look like an undersexed woman trying desperately to be sexual. A simple pic of her in ordinary clothes would be much more successful in getting the effect she wants.
