Ryan Gosling Kicks Off Tour In October -- Kids Included!

Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields are set to bring their band Dead Man’s Bones on its very first tour this October.

Pitchfork reports, “The actor/musician duo will bring the songs from their band’s self-title debut album to life with the help of a local choir in each of the twelve spots they’re hitting. Their album was recorded with the Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir but they can’t bring all those kids on the road with them. Hence, a new group in every city.”

The opening act for the shows will be a talent show, organized by the band and featuring local talent in each city. Amazing! Check out the tour promo video below. It’s almost exactly like one of those videos you watch before you enter a haunted mansion at an amusement park!

Hope they can pull this off! It’s a maddening (but very cool) idea.

He is one of the few stars that genuinely seems like a great guy. Fantastic idea to do a talent show and give people an opportunity to showcase their talent.

where and when can we buy tickets?

geez i bet lots of hipsters get the tix for the montreal and toronto shows. metric is playing around the same time so i hope people don’t go to this show. i mean i like rygosling and i always have, but i just want to smack hiim over the head sometimes. ugh. that’s pretty smart doing a small tour and going places they know they’ll get some response.

Welcome to the carnie revival! I love this opening!! I hope their music and show are as solid, quirky and out there as the promo. So far I am sold and looking forward to the Montreal show.. and if you like metric you may not be totally into this stuff so two crowds two bands two different shows, I am sure everyone will do just fine ;o)
