OlderPaula Abdul to Host VH1 Divas Concert
Paula Abdul parted ways with American Idol earlier this month but now she’s involved in a new music venture.
“Hi guys! I’m really excited to announce I’ll be hosting this year’s VH1 Divas!” the 47-year-old wrote on her Twitter page. “I am so excited!!”
The legendary live concert event is returning after a four-year hiatus and will feature big voices like Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus.
The VH1 Divas concert will be televised live from the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York. The special will air @ 9PM ET/PT on Thursday, September 17 on VH1.

I think she’s just childish in nature. That’s why she can’t find a husband, being close to 50. Stop taking the drugs…. even if it is over the counter. Britney Spears, watch out… this will become you.

Sorry but the girl might have some talent in hannah montana but she is not a great singer…just an over produced voice with over produced songs….
I probably won’t be tuning in to Idol this year- Paula was the most entertaining part of the show.

they want to put miley in the show so they could get more ratings, not that she deserves to be there. she has a huge following of young girls. adele, kelly, and leona all have great voices but i would just call them divas in training. true divas are people like diana ross, aretha, celine, mariah, whitney, etc….
As a general rule, I believe a diva should be, A, over 30, B, have more than one album out, and, C, be generally respected as one of the vocal talents of the generation.
Adele’s got the talent. But no real track record yet.
Miley’s got nada. Except a gazillion fans. Ratings trump talent.

Having Miley Cyrus perform at a VH1 Divas concert is a slap in the face to Aretha, Diana, Whitney, and Mariah. What a joke. Previous performers at this concert have real talent instead of a voice that sounds like she has been smoking cigs all her life.
