OlderAnna Kournikova is Radiant On The Runway
Anna Kournikova walks the runway at K-Swiss’ Play Nice fashion show at the Skyline Gallery in New York City on Wednesday (August 26).
During the show, the 28-year-old Russian tennis player and model was joined by the members of the Madison Boys and Girls Club on the runway.
In September, Anna‘s expected to compete in the 23rd annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon at Zuma Beach to raise money for the Pediatric Cancer Research Program at Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles.
FYI: Anna wore Yigal Azrouël‘s chain-embroidered leather & jersey dress on the green carpet.

Why does this woman get attention still? She sucked at tennis and did a disservice to all female athletes by only getting attention for being hot. It’s one thing to be hot. It’s another to parlay that into being considered an actual athlete when you’re not.

Erin, if you don’t follow tennis at all, don’t talk ****… Anna was a top 10 player, beauty doesn’t put in between the top 10… She was not Serena or Venus, obviously, but she had a series of injuries that helped ruin her career… Saying that a top 10 is a bad player is something that only someone who’s never watched tennis in his/her entirely life can say…
Also, Anna played in a lot more competitive time… Nowadays, WTA level isn’t as high, there aren’t big names like in her times, in fact, the big names are still the ones from her time…
Just to say that in contrary of other people, who don’t really have a successful career but who love putting other people accomplishment down, I’m happy to see Anna pictures here… She looked great at the event! =)

Grid, I’ll talk all the **** I want. Please tell me what major she won. Waiting….waiting. Still waiting. Even Martina Hingis could be considered a total success in comparison to Anna. Heck, Jen Capriati is a freaking hall of famer in comparison. Yeah, hon, I know tennis.

@ Grid: the thing is though, even if Anna K was this amazing player (which she’s not), she is STILL doing a disservice to female athletes everywhere. They’re often not taken very seriously, and Anna K is hardly helping the cause by acting all ****** in magazines

Erin, just because you mentioned Martina Hingis and Jen Capriati you didn’t prove you know tennis… As I said, being a top 10 is not easy, try to get there, it’s too much effort… Anna had a series of injuries, and she had to stop playing professionally when she was still too young…
People tend to think that if you’re not first, you’re not worth… But most of the times it’s just people who are frustrated with their own life so they have to put down every acchivement from other people, it makes them feel better about theirselves??
And Rosie, for me Anna was a great example, she mixed talent with style and beauty, she made the world realize that feminine girls can be an athlete, not only girls who totally look like men… And well, she opened the doors for Sharapova, Ivanovic, they’re cute and they’ve won major titles… They are taken seriously…
