Chris Brown opened up to CNN’s Larry King in an exclusive interview – his first television interview since his arrest for assaulting Rihanna.
The 20-year-old singer admits he’s still in love with Rihanna but for five years, “We have to be like 10 yards away from each other.” Here’s what else Chris talked about:
On looking at the photo of Rihanna’s bruised face: “When I look at it now, it’s just like, wow, like, I can’t — I can’t believe that — that actually happened.”
On Rihanna dating other men: “I definitely would be affected by it, but, at the end of the day, I mean, we’re not together, so, if she’s happy, I’m cool. We’ll always be friends.”
On his sentence, including community service: “Everything comes with consequences. They want me to pick up trash remove graffiti. I’m a hard worker. It’s something I’m willing to do.”
On moving forward: “I just need to prove to people I can be a role model. That’s not who I am as a person, and that’s not who I promise I want to be. I made a mistake and I — and it was just something I have to live up and own.”
Chris’ interview on Larry King Live will air this Wednesday (September 2) @ 9PM ET on CNN.

here comes the media ***** sessions to pick up the pieces of what he has left of his image. man up and own what you’re responsible for. none of this denial or pleading insanity crap. period.
That’s called dissociation. He doesn’t remember because he splits into another person when he is acting out his aggression. Either that or he is trying to “obscure his violence and its meaning both from himself and from others.” (taken from a website http://apt.rcpsych.org/cgi/content/full/7/1/65.) I hope Chris is getting care from a therapist who has a lot of experience with domestic violence perpetrators. The fact that he is telling us he doesn’t remember makes me think he probably isn’t . . if he were getting help, the first thing he would have learned would be about dissociation and about strategies for making sure that you are applying ALL your intelligence and wisdom in stressful circumstances and not lashing out with violence.
He can’t change that night but he can change things going forward. The only way he can change things going forward though is if he realizes this is very likely to happen again if he doesn’t take responsibility for getting treatment and for healing from his own childhood.
He needs to be on the receiving end. Wonder if he’d remember that? Jerk!!!

They are always sorry. Each time they beat their girlfriend, their wife or their child.
Sorry you two. He is going to have to prove his worth as a decent human being to me and to millions of others who know this is sickness and it doesn’t stop at just one beating. From what I’ve read this wasn’t the first time he’d hit Rihanna. And until he proves through actions that it was the last I have NO respect for him. NONE.
And if you were informed about the subject you wouldn’t be in such a hurry to forgive (which is okay), FORGET (which is not), and EXCUSE (which is pitiful of you).
People like Chris escalate and finally one of the beatings kills or maims. So you are saying because he uittered two words I’m sorry–it is okay now?
