OlderJanet Jackson Covers Harper's Bazaar
Janet Jackson is breaking her silence about her late brother Michael Jackson‘s death in the October 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on stands Sept. 22. Here’s what the 43-year-old singer opened up about:
On Michael’s daughter, Paris, speaking during his memorial service: “I was really proud. People said to me that Michael’s daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She’s a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They’re with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going.”
On what she’s like the world to know about Michael: “He loved to laugh. The last time we were together, he’d laugh so hard, he would just start crying. Sometimes his humor would be corny, sometimes dry. He loved the Three Stooges, he loved slapstick, he loved Eddie Murphy in his silly comedies. He loved to have fun. He loved to play… He’s just got so much love, and so much heart, and so much power through his music. Children and his love for children. People have told me, ‘I am an American citizen because of your brother.’”

Please, make the jacksons go away. They are all capitalizing on their brothers death with concerts, memorial after memorial, interviews. Just go away. Its all about the dollar bill with them

That cover looks similar to the curent Vogue UK Oct issue. All PINK Nonetheless Janet looks great on this one.
MIchael must be rolling in his grave. He took great pains to protect the children and their privacy and now his entire family releases pictures, pimps them out, talks about them. He wanted them to have a”normal” childhood (whatever his definition was) and not get caught up in the craziness that was his childhood. And now the kids are once again Jackson $$$$ money makers.

Some of you folks who made comments are foolish! Janet and Michael were the closest of all the siblings. Janet never tried to get money or the likes from Michael’s fame. Janet in her own rights have made her own money, etc. She is speaking out about her loss and how she is coping with it. She also is trying to show another side of Michael that no one knows (a good, loving and kind hearted person and father) as well as pay tribute to him (without profiting form it).
I am glad that she is finally speaking out and sharing with us her hurt and pain over the loss of her brother…yes her brother!
If we are all hurting the way we are, can you imagine how bad Janet, her family and most of all his children are hurting?!?!? Michael was a real person. We will never see anyone like him ever again and he is gone. I would expect to hear something from Janet. It would seem strange for her not to say something public. She is not doing it for money, she is doing it for those of us who want to hear it. Those of us who loved her brother. He made alot of people happy. Nice to hear kids are doing fine… even though I believe Janet is one of the closest sisters of Michael. You could see the relation between them and how much love they gave to each other.
I know this will be one of her best performances, Michael and his children will be proud.
@dani: There are several pics of MJ with kids unmasked in the last few weeks of his life so obviously he loosened up on his stance of keeping them covered. He left them to his mother who is still married to Joe so obviously he felt there were more positives than negatives of having them with the Jackson family.RIP MJ

speak on it truth. wasn’t janet on the forbes list? she has made her own decisions and fortune. she may be a jackson, but first of all she never wanted to be seen as riding mj’s coattails. the kids will have a good network of loving family. if the jacksons were all about whoring out the kids then where are rebbie’s kids? and jermaine? and the rest of the family. ignorant response.

I am going to read this interview in its entirety at the bookstore. Michael and Janet were the only two siblings who have had extremely successful solo careers and I believe these two were the closest of them all. Though she is still a ‘Jackson’, I like Janet and what she had to say. I, however, despise Latoya and the other Jackson kids since I believe theyre the ones who are going to try and capitalize off of Michael’s death,, Jermaine too. I think Michael and Janet had alot more in common,, lots of haters on here I see and it’s a shame.

@Marie: You need to check yourself before you say anything about the Jackson family. The only Jacksons that have been capitolizing on Michael’s death are Michaels father Joseph and his brother Jermaine. His sister La Toya has done a couple of things but it was only honoring her late brother and his charitable work he did and with Janet, the first time she spoke about her brother was on the BET Awards but that was only because like she said the family elected her to speak for them and now with this magazine she’s just telling things about her brother that nobody knew about and thought the world should know. Cause the press has done nothing for years but made him look bad and Janet is trying to help people to see that what has been said is not true that’s all.

She HAS to talk about MJ. Someone, with credit, HAS to tell the world that he was a benefactor (before it was “IN”), he was pro adoption (before it was “IN”), he was worried about the planet (before it was “IN”), he was blackmailed by a lot of people, exaggerating his attitudes to make it bad and get 15 minutes in the media. He has 3 kids that love him “SO MUCH”, as his little daughter said, and people continue to publish a lot of things that can hurt them for a life. She HAS to say to everyone to let him RIP and let the kids live their lives freely.
