Drew Barrymore & Ellen Page: Marie Claire Cover Girls!

Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page are yummy in yellow on the October 2009 cover of Marie Claire, on stands Sept. 15.

Drew sounded off on her Whip It! costar: “Ellen has such a beautiful body, and I personally battled with my own body image for years. I used to tell myself, ;You can’t wear anything sleeveless or strapless.; And all of a sudden I was like, ;What if I just didn’t send such negative messages to my brain and said, wear it and enjoy it?; And now I’m more comfortable in clothes than ever.”

Drew added, “She was in her frickin’ bra and with an open jacket and hot-pink shorts, skating around the rink with red lips and… and she was sexy as a mother…. a feral creature. It was great. And it’s so screwed up for girls to think, Oh because I don’t have that cookie-cutter model body, it must mean I don’t have the right body shape. And I love model bodies, but I just want women to embrace several body shapes. That’s the thing I love about derby. It’s really welcoming.”

Ellen and Drew‘s upcoming roller derby film Whip It! opens on Friday, October 2.

Wow my favourite actresses!! Definitely buy this issue

I love Drew & Ellen! they rock!!!!!

she shall remain nameless @ 09/11/2009 at 3:50 am

The picture of them in roller skates is adorable!!! They both look beautiful. I’m excited for the movie too!!!! :)

Drew said she wrote her 1st script when she was 6. Funny that she’s been in the film industry for 30 years and no one has bought a script from her. Why has it taken so long for her to direct a film then? Because she prefers to get big money for crap romcoms.

Also, why do no women in Hollywood have self respect? Jason Reitman didn’t have to reduce himself to sexy photo shots to promote Juno. Because he is a talented director.

drew is so damn boring
i will admit tho, she looks nice on the cover
ive seen other pics from this magazine, they’re not that bad

Ellen and Drew epitome of classy! So excited to see “whip it!”

at least ellen doesn’t look too kiddish here, she really look like a 16yr old despite of being 22§…lol..
i guess it’s like the olsen twins, never really looking old due to their baby face and petite height.

Cute cover! But I don’t get what Drew’s trying to say here. Does she mean Ellen’s body is an example of an alternative body shape? Because if so, that’s crap – she’s tiny!I love Drew, but I always get a bit frustrated she doesn’t let her rebellious flag fly all the way. Her philosophies are great in theory, but she always still seems to think inside the Hollywood box – as if it’s subversive to consider Ellen’s or even her own body beautiful, when both are pretty conventionally attractive.

Oh and it is good to see Ellen looking a bit more grown up – I thought she’d have that baby face for a long time! She’s looking a bit like Rena Sofer, here.

Ellen Page is super beautiful. I really like seeing or hearing about her in stuff, she seems totally real.
She looks quite skinny though…Maybe she had to work out a lot for the role or something.
