  • brooke

Team Federer!!!! Roger, you are a legend and such a great inspiration and role model to many!!! Congratulations on the win and I can’t wait to see you claim the title again this afternoon!!!

  • Jen

    Arrogant Man!!

  • milind

    he is AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • natasha

    h@Jen: I agree

  • GypsyNoches

gabriela sabatini used to do that all the time

they called it the sabatweeni when she did it lol

  • wendy

HAHA i watched the match, and when he did it, and it actually worked, man that was sublime. He had a chance to make a TOTAL fool of himself, but it worked!

Good luck tonight Roger, even if you dont win, you are a class act!

  • nadal

@Jen: hi jen why did u say he’s arrogant?

  • Novak

Would have loved to have seen Djokovic gone through; he’s really picked up his game. Djokovic had some terrible calls go against him yesterday, good thing they can now ask for a review. I was disappointed in Federer myself. Novak had a really unfair call go against him, and even the commentators said that Federer should have given him the point – would have been the sportsmanlike thing to do.

Oh well, nothing can hold a candle to the lack of class Serena Williams showed Saturday night!

  • Jen

Talk with this man and you’ll know why!

  • ashleigh

    @Jen:

what are you talking about! he’s the most gracious man in the game of tennis!! I actually met him also and he is so down to earth and EXTREMELY talented at what he does..HAVE YOU TALKED TO HIM EVER OR ARE YOU JUST MAKING ASSUMPTIONS??!

  • ashleigh

    @natasha:

Give a valid reaon why he’s arrogant! He is extremely kind

  • Jaxon

That was a beautiful shot, but um, wasn’t the ball out so he didn’t get the point?

  • ashleigh

haha sorry this is my third comment..i actually came in to comment on the shot in the first place! That was AMAZING! The one match i miss and this is what he does! Novak even acknowledged how incredible that shot was!

  • Sarah

    Wow incredible! and @Jen:
    @natasha:

i think he has the right to be arrogant(even though you’d have to be an idiot or not a follower of the game of tennis to think he was) ..he’s won 15 tennis grand slams…which is 15 more that you’ve won!! Many commentators say how gracious he is..never mention him being arrogant because he’s not..simple as! If you wanna say who’s arrogant look at novak djokovic who imitates (purposefully) the likes of nadal and federer because he knows he’s a step below both federer and nadal!!

  • Rachel

IF you are referring to the way he celebrated after hitting probably one of the most amazing shots in tennis ever as “arrogant” then you really are extremely small-minded..wouldn’t you celebrate if you hit a shot like that to give you THREE match points??! don’t deny you wouldn’t even though you don’t have the talent anyway!!

  • Nolwenn

    Trop fort ! C’est le meilleur ;p

  • jazmin

as much as i love novak, this was a good shot

  • Passing Through

Roger Federer arrogant? Puh-leeze. You must be a Butt-Digging Boy fan. Roger rocks. He’s won the sportsman’s award in tennis just about every year since 2002. Is he confident? Sure and why shouldn’t he be? Call me when YOUR favorite tennis player has 15 majors, 22 straight major semi-finals with reaching 17 of the last 18 slam finals. Go Roger!

  • http://scarfff.blogspot.com Emma B.

I just watched it on Youtube – and it was freaking amazing!

  • mertz

so glad got that point he missed in aussie back! love him! look at his pops. lol. even better look at novak’s face. lmfao. he knows that was so sick.

  • mertz

    he posterized novak :D :) :P :(

  • black

Well———he won´t have to cry this time around seeing how Nadal just lost his game yesterday.

(Bring some tissues with you next time Roger)

  • melissa

that move is from an argentine player called: guillermo vilas.. he invented that..

  • Stefanie

he’s not arrogant! he’s king roger!

  • j

hes so amazing. i love him. ive been a fan of his for 5 years now.

I LOVE YOUR ROGER FEDERER NO MATTER WHAT.

  • adriana

I can see why some would say that he gives off an air of arrogance, but I personnally think it’s the truthfullness and confidence in him. And why not, the guy sets numerous records of all time and still in counting. Anything less from him during interviews would be considered fake.
And yes… that shot was amazing!!!! … I think he was as shock as the rest of the tennis world. Sure many have hit shots between the legs… but none could delivered what he did last night. In all fairness, part of that shot has to do with luck as well and giving another chance, he probably won’t be able to hit the shot again. He even admitted to that himself, “tried many times… but never worked before…”

  • me me me

federer arrogant? i don’t think so… he always seems so polite and well behaved, even too polite for my taste. he has the best game, he’s pretty much untouchable. what he’s doing to poor del potro as i’m writing this is painful to watch.

  • http://dlisted.com lakers fan in boston

seeing the score of him againist del potro at work right now
i hope he loses, i no he’s an awesome player, but i get tired watching the same person winning over and over
the same with the women’s side, always serena or venus williams…
    gl del potro

  • Jaxon

Arrogant? I don’t think so. I think you are confusing confidence and arrogance. No one goes to the top of their field and stays there without a load of confidence in themselves. He has that in spades, as well he should. But whenever I I have him interviewed I found him very humble and gracious.

The absolute biggest indicator is how he treats his “underlings.” Those who have worked for him and with him say he is always polite, thankful, and courteous to them. That is not the actions of an arrogant man.

  • lola

Get your facts straight people, that shot was done in the 70`s by Guillermo Villas. Fedrer did not invent it

  • rogerrules!

Yes that was a great great shot!
